Yeah, you could look around on crops. Especially tall ones like corn, or something that has long skinny stems like tomatoes and sunflowers. They like to get on things that they can blend in to, the same way a walking stick bug does. A mantis might be a good way to try and conquer your fears, since they're so harmless. ^-^

Yeah...if anyone else is considering catching and raising a mantis, make sure you look up a local entomologist and jot down their number so you can call someone if you need information.
