Since this issue seems to be affecting older characters, who doesn't even have the amount of items (300, spite being stacks or not), I stil theorise the issue is regarding a database size limit. Any confirmation that this is not the actual case? Since the issue struck my sister recently and she has not been as active in the game as say, Damsel, but she has been an old player doing event quests. With every new content release it seemed people claimed it got worse. This seems to be rather suspicious to me. My bunny who has ignored the event quests, have yet to be struck by this issue, spite gone farther in actual game content than say, Damsel's fox under influence of the bug. On this character I also have an immense collection of random items on me, and a card collection too.
My theory was that each quest adds a line to the characters database string(and monster quests adds even more such since they add monsters killed, and the record time). With all event quests stacking up, particulary for the very active, along with new content releases and them being packrats, thou spite being the same packrat always, the new quests made their characters more and more limited than before. Not that I can recreate this issue(since its not like Damsel could be under influence of the 300 issue, then delete a quest and see if she suddenly can pick up more or not), but Im sure the developers or database responsible people should be able to tell wether or not the case -is- as I speculate.
Not sure what I've been saying made sense, but nevertheless. I could post a very in-depth discussion about the thing I mentioned above and how it affects characters, if wanted, during other occurances elsewhere.
My opinion is mine alone. Stop making assumptions.
