Haha, I see you're a bit mixed up. "The man" I've mentioned isn't Karan, it's another character, who comes into play later in the story. Kyo and the Gang are still fighting Karan.

Chapter 8: An Unexpected Enemy
Kyo closed his eyes, and the gun shot pierced the air. However, the bullet stopped dead, and shattered a few inches from Kyo. "Mana Ring!", a voice said. Suddenly, the weird aura surrounded him vanished. Karan looked around, "Huh? Show yourself, you coward!", "More than happy to." the voice answered back. He showed up behind Karan. "Incinerate!" he yelled out. A barrage of flames hit Karan. "What the--?!", Kyo didn't hesitate, he shot directly at Karan. He fell back a few feet. Mike ran up and hit him as hard as he could "Sayonara, sucker!", he flew off the cliff, down into the water. "NOOO!" he cried, falling to his death.
"Electroshock!" The mysterious man said again. Electricity shot down into Karan's watery grave, shocking everything. The caves stopped rumbling, and the water ceased to shake. He turned around to face Kyo. He was obviously a Wizard, wearing red and orange clothes, his hair a light blonde. "Hello." he replied, coldly. "Hi.", Kyo said back. "Who the heck are you?", Mike interrogated, he was never good at introducing himself. "...", he didn't say anything. "Um...Hello!", "...Are you people from G.Y.R.O?", "What's it to you?" Rita asked. "I'll take that as a yes...", beeped into some wrist-watch thing. "Hey, boss. I found them. G.Y.R.O. Would you like me to do anything?", "Good work, Sun. Just come back, I'll deal with them, myself.", the Raccoon from earlier's voice said, coming from the device. And with that, he vanished. "He was...", Mike said, "A...Bad guy?", "I guess so. Sun, his name was. Anyways, how are we going to get out of here?", Rita said. She was right. The stepping stones crumbled, leaving just the stream. Suddenly, the rocks came back up, like magic. "Wow, that was a coincidence.", Kyo said.
They made their way over. "Hey guys...I'll be right there. Go on.", Kyo said, searching the ground. He found the glowing hat and the eye-patch. He picked them up, and shoved them in his pocket, along with the gun, and joined up with them. Little did he know what trouble he was getting into.
The man made himself out the cave, into a weird ice place. He looked around, the whole place was made of ice. Then the doors opened, and ice golems stomped out, a queen on a throne behind them. They stopped, staring right at him. "Who are you?", the queen said, her voice graceful, yet menacing. The man couldn't say anything. "Guards! Cease him!", she commanded. "No! Please--!"
Chapter 9: The Hidden Darkness
Back in Megalopolis, the storm had dimmed down to a light sprinkle. Kyo pulled the items that he found in Ghost Blue out of his pocket. For some reason they didn't glow. He put on the hat, and instantly felt it get warmer. "So it only lights up if someone wears it? Odd." he thought. Kyo went outside and walked out of the building. He put on the hat again, strapped on the eye-patch, and cradled the gun. He shot off a bullet, the gun was surprisingly quiet.
He threw an empty potion bottle on the side of the street, and shot it. It shattered instantaneously. Suddenly, he felt something hit his back. He fell down, but got up. He pulled out a card, a Joker one at that. "Tsk tsk. A Joker? Well, that isn't good.", the familiar Raccoon man stepped over, right in front of Kyo. "You know what that means, right?", he asked.
"What?", "It means...Death!", suddenly, Kyo felt the familiar sickness sweep over him again. "Death? Does this mean...Oh no."
