Yes~! The creative block is gone! :D it feels like so long since my brain thought creatively. D:

Chapter 17 – Part 1

The annoyed feeling began to subside from Ari’s mind, so she looked over at Zero again. He had an odd look on his face. The best way Ari would describe it was a pout. “What’s wrong now?” Ari asked; still a bit annoyed. “So I saw you and Shadow hooked up, huh? I should've seen that one coming,” He said and looked up at the sky. “Wah. I had planned on making you mine too.” He shrugged jokingly. “That wouldn’t happen if you were the last person in the universe. Or in your dreams. Or if you had a dream that you and me were the only people left in the universe.” Ari said flatly. “Harsh. You’re such a heart breaker. Seriously, that was overkill.” He said and pretended to cry. “I’m not harsh, you’re just a wimp.” She scoffed. “And who was the one who KO’d you without breaking a sweat?” Zero smiled proudly. “Thanks for reminding me of that,” she rolled her eyes. “I still have bruises.” She said and glared at him. “Hey, I said I was sorry, there’s not much else I can – “ Zero froze and locked his eyes on a bruise on Ari’s neck. “What?” Ari tilted her head to the side. Zero stayed silent and walked over to her. He grabbed Ari’s face and lifted it up. “What are you doing?” she raised her voice and tried to struggle out of Zero’s iron grip. “Looking at this.” He said and ran his finger across the bruise. “Ow.” Ari cringed. “What’s wrong with it?” she asked. “He couldn’t have… but it would explain the samples…” Zero mumbled. “What?” Ari was getting impatient. He shook his head and let go. “Nothing.” He said. “If you start to feel sick at all, tell me, okay?” Zero said sternly. “Huh? Is it infected or something?” Ari was totally confused. “No, I don’t even think bruises get infected…but that’s not the point! Just tell me, okay? It might be something serious, it might not be.” He explained. “What’s wrong with it though?” Ari demanded. “There’s a possibility that Mika injected you with an experimental DNA-altering virus.”

Chapter 17 – Part 2

“What! When! What is it going to do!” Ari jumped in shock. “He must’ve done it when I wasn’t looking. I never would’ve let him do it. I’m not sure what it’ll do to you specifically, but I think its only triggered by strong emotions of anger or grief. If you keep your emotions in check, you should be fine.” Zero turned and then looked lost in deep thought. “How do you know?” Ari asked, hoping to get some form of reassurance. “Mika injected me with the same thing. And I set it off once. Everything about that is just a weird crazy blur though. Everything had a weird green hue to it, and my mind would fade in and out like a series of blackouts. As far as I can tell, even when my mind went out, my body was still moving on it’s own... Then there was this horrible snarl, like the kind you’d hear a werewolf make in a horror movie.” He started doing weird hand gestures as he talked. “Mika said I was the one making that noise, but I don’t believe him. It was just too inhuman. Definitely like some kind of beast. Rawr.” He growled and made a weird face that was probably supposed to be an impression of a monster. “Does that mean I’ll turn into a monster too?” Ari asked sheepishly. “You sound like a little kid who just heard a scary story. I never said I turned into a monster either. I’m sure nothing bad will happen to you. ” He tried to sound comforting. “But, I’ll have to keep a close eye on you. So I’ll be hanging out with you and Shadow from now on. That way, I can get the information I need, and make sure nothing weird happens to you.” Zero smirked. “No way! There’s no way I’ll hang out with you all day! And Shadow won’t allow it either!” Ari protested. “I’m sure I have a reason that’ll win both of you over. If something happens because of that weird virus, I’m the only one who might have a slight idea of what to do.” He grinned; he looked eerily similar to Mika when he did. “I guess you have a point.” Ari relaxed her stance and sighed. “Fine by me then. But I’ll leave talking to Shadow to you.” She put her hand on her forehead and looked at the ground. “I’m sure it’ll be easy. Since I’m part of the group now, I vote we go hunt Shadow down and give him the news.” He smiled brightly and started to walk off, swinging his tail. “Why does your happiness creep me out…?” Ari sighed and walked after Zero.

Chapter 18 – Part 1

Zero bounded across the decorative concrete of the city; seeming to have limitless energy. “Would you slow down? We have all day!” Ari had to keep her pace at a slow jog to keep up. “Come on, a little exercise won’t kill you.” Zero said and started walking backwards slowly. “It won’t kill me, but I don’t like to put out more effort than I have to.” Ari sighed and kept jogging. “Now that’s just lazy.” Zero spun back around and went back to his previous pace. Zero kept moving forward; humming to himself quietly. “Well you seem to have turned into the sunshiney-happy-raccoon, you were foretelling possibilities of doom not too long ago. What’s up with that?” Ari started to struggle keeping up. “Well, I’m a ‘live in the now’ kind of guy. Things are going my way, I’m going to get the information I want, and I get to be around you all the time, when it comes to my life recently, this is pretty great.” Zero said cheerily and had a bounce in his step that almost looked like skipping. He suddenly stopped and jumped quickly onto a tree branch. “I never will figure out how you do that.” Ari stopped next to the tree and looked up. “It’s easy when you’re as strong as I am.” He said and looked around. “Hah! Found him!” Zero grinned and jumped off the branch. “Wait Zero. I’m not sure this is a good ide—“ Ari was cut off mid-sentence when Zero grabbed her arm and took off running.

This might be it for the week. D: (Unless I get the chance to goof off in class...>_>)

Chapter 18 – Part 2

“Shadow! Yo!” Zero waved while still dragging Ari behind him. Shadow turned around and looked as confused as Ari had expected him to be. “Ari, what the heck is going on? I thought I asked you to stay over there. I said I’d be back later.” Shadow raised and eyebrow and tilted his head. “Well there’s good news and bad news, though it’s probably all bad news to you.” Zero interrupted. “Huh?” Shadow looked at Zero as if he just realized that he was there. “The good news, for me, is that I’ll be traveling with you guys from now on.” Zero tried to hide the smile forming on his face. “What! There is no way I’m gonna travel around with you of all people!” Shadow flinched in protest. “Well actually, there is a valid reason that I need to come along,” Zero sighed and crossed his arms. “I’m sure it’s nothing serious, but Ari may or may not have a DNA-altering virus.” He shrugged. Shadow stared at Zero like he had just spoken in a different language. “What…?” Shadow finally said. “Don’t you speak English? I can’t put it in simpler terms than that. The point is that I need to keep an eye on her. If anything happens, you won’t know what to do. I, on the other hand, will.” Zero grinned in his Mika-like way again. Shadow sighed and stared at Zero for a long few minutes. “Did you get Ari’s opinion on this?” Shadow asked in an oddly calm tone. “Yeah. Ari think it’s a good idea to have me come along. The poor girl fears for her life.” Zero said dramatically. “I do not. But I do think he should come along, just for a little while.” Ari reluctantly agreed. Shadow sighed with slight annoyance. “Fine. He can stay with us for a while.” Shadow gave in with another heavy sigh. “Well that settles it then! I’m with you guys.” Zero smiled brightly again. “Your happiness still gives me chills.” Ari shuddered and sighed.

Well I miss my story lately, so even though some events have occurred, I've decided to pick this up again (Though I wonder if anyone will read it anymore....) I'll try to keep up with this again. o.o

Chapter 19 – Part 1

“So, the first order of business, I still want to know what happened to me, Shadow.” Zero turned serious yet again. “Man, you don’t know when to give things up, do you?” Shadow looked with a scowl on his face. “I don’t see why you’re so mad about it. I’m asking you a simple question. Why won’t you just answer it?” Zero was trying to stay calm but was letting a bit of anger slip in his voice. “Why should I answer? I have no reason to.” Shadow growled. “You also have no reason not to answer.” Zero replied sharply. “If you were smart, you’d shut up and drop it.” Shadow threatened. “Call me an idiot then.” Zero hissed and stepped forward. “I want answers Shadow. Now.” Zero’s low hiss then turned to a snarl. Shadow then took a step forward too. The air suddenly was thick with tension between the two. “And if I don’t give you answers?” Shadow snarled back. “Then I’ll force you to tell me.” Zero took another step forward and shoved Shadow back. “I’d like to see you try.” Shadow shoved Zero back sending him stumbling onto the ground. Zero jumped back up and punched Shadow in the stomach. “Zero!” Ari shouted angrily. The two ignored her and Shadow kneed Zero on what looked like his neck. Zero then sprung up and tackled Shadow to the ground. What was once a verbal argument was now more like two boys in a schoolyard brawl. “Stop it! Both of you!” Ari shouted again, but just as she expected, they ignored her again as fists and kicks continued to fly. “I just asked you a freakin’ question you psycho!” Zero yelled while kicking and punching wildly. “And I told you to drop it!” Shadow yelled back and landed a punch across Zero’s face. The yelling and tumbling went on while Ari tried to think of a way to settle the matter. “Why can’t you just say it!” Zero shouted. “Because you don’t need to know!” Shadow shouted back, flipped over, and pinned Zero to the ground with his arm behind his back. “Get off me! What are you? A cop?” Zero grimaced and struggled to get free.
"Stop!" Ari yelled at the top of her lungs. The two finally looked over at her. "Instead of fighting like animals and getting nowhere, why don't we settle this with a duel instead? I'll set the rules." Ari crossed her arms and looked down at them. "Fine. Sounds fair to me." Zero sighed, still pinned to the ground. "Duel it is. I know I won't lose anyway." Shadow agreed. "Here are the rules. You both are only allowed to use one offensive skill of your choice. Defense skills are not allowed. If Shadow wins, Zero has to drop the topic of questions. If Zero wins, Shadow has to tell him everything he knows about Zero. Okay?" Ari said. "Okay." The two said in unison and nodded. "Zero, what skill will you be using?" Ari turned and asked. "Card Strike of course." Zero grinned and held cards between his fingers. "How about you, Shadow?" Ari turned to Shadow and asked. "Hah. This guy is so weak, I can take him out with Arrow Rush. Be happy I'm going easy on you, Zero." "Hah. Don't get too confident. I'm extremely motivated." Zero scoffed. The group went out into a deserted area of the forest. There was nothing but silence and tension in the air. Shadow and Zero took their places on opposite sides on a circle and took a fighting stance. "Begin!" Ari waved her hand downwards and the two tricksters rushed at each other.
