(I know the first part is boring but it'll get better, I promise!)
Chapter 1 Part 1 ~
As the cool ocean breeze spread across the deck of the ship, the captain made the announcement that they have arrived on Caballa Island. A small schoolgirl stepped off the ship with the others and placed her brand new bunny ears upon her head. With a bounce in her step, the bunny named Ari set off to explore the place known as Blooming Cora. Ever since she saw the brochure Ari knew she wanted to come to the island where fortune and adventure lurked around every turn, but so far the calm scenery of the beach and the quiet waves made it seem more like a place to take a vacation than to fight off monsters like she was told to. Ari walked casually through the town when a posted bulletin caught her eye. “Beware of the mad scientist named Mika, he will capture you and use you for his inhumane experiments. Beware of any suspicious tricksters, they could be working for him!” Ari stared at the picture on the poster. “He sure doesn’t look like a crazy guy…” she whispered to herself. “Yeah, you can never know who to trust these days, it’s a shame.” Ari looked over and saw a dragon who looked like he had been on the island a while already. “I suppose so… my name is Ari.” Ari tried to smile and looked up at the stranger. “I’m Shadow. Nice to meet you.” “I was just going to head back to the beach, you want to hang out?” Ari offered, after all she was here alone and having friends would make things more fun. “Sure. I was wandering around anyway.” He said and gave Ari a slight smile. So they both took their attention away from the bulletin and walked through the town toward the beach

Chapter 1 Part 2 ~
“So how long have you been on Caballa Island?” Ari asked casually.
“Hm…I guess I can just say I’ve been here a while.” Shadow just began to stare out past the horizon. As the waves swept over the sand, minutes past in silence as sky turned orange and the sun began to set. “You should find somewhere to stay, it’s not safe for you to be here at night.” Shadow’s calm face turned into a worried expression. “Why not?” Ari was becoming more and more curious about this strange island. “The rumors say Mika has a henchman who kidnaps new tricksters is lurking around here, and if those rumors are true, he’s also targeting bunnies more than anyone else. I guess he’s up to some sick new experiment.” Shadow then looked genuinely disgusted. “I guess I’ll see you around then?” Ari asked and stood up slowly. “Sure, I’ll probably run into you tomorrow.” Shadow smiled and left for the town. Ari decided to watch the sun set before she would leave. The stars on the island glistened brighter than any others she had ever seen. Long after the sky turned dark and the moon set itself in the middle of the sky, Ari finally chose to start walking back to call it a night. The sand crunched underneath her sneakers with each step, everything seemed a lot more eerie at night. Ari suddenly got the feeling that she wasn’t alone. She occasionally glanced over her shoulder when she heard an odd noise from above… “You know, a cute little bunny like you shouldn’t be wandering around here all alone this late. It’s not safe with Mika’s henchman around.” A sly voice said from above. Ari jumped back and looked up. A charming looking raccoon dressed in black was perched in one of the trees calmly swaying his tail from side to side. “I know, I was just heading back to town.” Ari said to the strange boy in the tree. “Well it’s too bad you won’t be making it there.” The raccoon boy lunged out of the tree and with a flick of his arm, released a barrage of exploding cards.

Chapter 2 - Part 1
Ari leapt to the right, barely being missed by one of the cards. “What are you doing?!” Ari shouted and fell onto the ground. The mysterious attacker jumped back onto one of the branches in the tree. “I’m very sorry about this, please understand it’s nothing personal, I’m simply following my orders.” He said and flung another round of cards at Ari. “Mana Storm!” a rush of magic blasted the cards into harmless bits. Shadow jumped out from a bush and threw himself in front of Ari. “What do you think you’re doing?” Shadow demanded and kept in a battle position. “I was simply going to take that little bunny somewhere nice. Nothing more.” The raccoon-boy shrugged. “It seems pretty obvious she doesn’t want to go with you, and that didn’t look like a very friendly chat either.” Shadow said sharply. “I’m afraid I’m out of time for now, so you win this round,” the boy leapt from the branch back to the ground and turned to Ari. “I’m letting you get away from me this time little bunny, but you won’t be so lucky next time.” He said casually and winked at her. Ari shuddered with disgust. The boy began to turn around. “By the way. My name is Zero. Remember it.” Zero then disappeared into the darkness of the night. Shadow turned towards Ari and helped her back to her feet. “What in the world were you thinking staying out this late? I told you it was dangerous!” Shadow stared into Ari’s eyes. “If I hadn’t come along he would’ve taken you to Mika and who knows what would’ve happened to you.” He sighed angrily. Ari just stared at Shadow; still speechless. “I’m really sorry. I know I should’ve gone in earlier when you did. It was an easy mistake, but thanks a lot for saving me…” she took a step back and stared at the ground. “What are friends for I suppose?” he sighed again. “Since you didn’t listen to me last time, I’ll walk back with you, since you don’t seem like you can defend yourself yet.” He began to walk towards town and Ari followed without another word.
Chapter 2 - Part 2
~I'll be posting illustrations for this story in the graphics and arts soon to give you all a better image of what the characters look like(and for my own enjoyment) :D i'll be posting that probably next week.
Zero ran quickly through the sleeping city slipping quietly into a secret entrance that went to the underground tunnels beneath Megalopolis. He slowly walked in the pitch-black tunnels eventually emerging in a laboratory. “Welcome back 001. Did you bring back anything worth experimenting on for me today?” a calm voice said. “Lord Mika, I’ve asked you to please call me Zero, not that number you have me written down as,” Zero sat in a stray lab stool as he usually did. “Tonight was interesting, but I’m sorry to tell you I failed in capturing a bunny I targeted.” Zero looked down at his feet. Mika turned from an odd thing that looked like it used to a Bad Fury. “What happened? I made it so that you’re basically invincible. Are there any flaws I need to fix through shock therapy and brain surgery again?” Mika swayed his tail and pulled a rusty scalpel from one of his drawers. “I almost had her, but some priest jumped in. You know I can’t take down a 3rd job, especially not a magic type.” Zero shifted in his seat, the thought of shock therapy and brain surgery was making him uneasy. “I see… but I do need a bunny that knows no skills. It’s perfect for my newest experiment! I’m getting close to succeeding! I can feel it! I’ve failed so many times that the next time I do the surgery it’s bound to work!” Mika grinned from ear to ear. “Heh, of course this benefits you too 001…I mean Zero. You’ll finally have someone else around here that’s like you!” Mika laughed softly to himself. “Now, I want you to go bring me that bunny, and don’t come home until you have her.” Mika turned his back to Zero and began cutting the unrecognizable creature. Zero stood and turned towards the door. “Yes lord Mika, I’ll bring her back here soon.” Zero then closed the doors and flew back into the cold tunnels.
