Chapter 47 – Retribution?
“Hurry!!! We have to leave this place! We must not be seen! The stuns on these guys will go off anytime now! And someone’s coming! We must not be seen no matter what! THE FATE OF THE UNIVERSE IS ON OUR HANDS!” Eclipse shouted. She sounded serious for once.
“NOO.... I HAVE TO KILL THIS IDIOT!!! ARGGHHHH.....” Long was ready to attack when Eclipse sent them back to the time dimension. Shortly after, they fell back on Emerald forest, in the present.
Ryo was getting paler. His body lied frail on the ground. He was mumbling, of what seemed to be words. Long and Flora could not do anything but watch in anxiety. Eclipse stood a few metres away, as if she did not know anything.
"Ryo! Speak to me! Are you alright?" Long cried. Flora started to sob loudly.
"I... I am okay... I... am okay.... argh...” Ryo cried quietly.
"Why are you so foolish! You shouldn’t have gone in between Necromane and the past me! You know how dangerous he is? And don’t you know Eclipse was trying to stun Necromane? Why did you do that? Just for me?" Long was angry. But not at Ryo, but himself for letting Ryo do that, and for agreeing to go into the past at the first place.
Ryo was quiet for a moment. "I didn't do it for you...." He turned his dying gaze at Flora.
"I did it for her...she... she... will be the one jumping out if I didn’t.... I... have to do something.... argghh...." he said as he groaned in pain his eyes. It was too much for Flora to handle. She had no clue that Ryo felt that way for her. She cried even more, and hugged the dying Ryo.
“Why.... why....” She sobbed.
Long flinched. He took out the flower of revival that he had from the Queen.
Just as he was about to hold the flower against Ryo, Ryo tightly held his hands.
“N-nnoo.... you keep that... y-you will need it in the future... just let me rest in peace will you? And take care of her....”
“What are you talking about! YOU CAN’T DIE! YOU CAN’T JUST LEAVE US....” Ryo smiled. Long hesitated to lift up his hands. But out of a sudden, Ryo concentrated and a glow of darkness appeared. It stunned Long and Flora. They could not move an inch. They could only hear Ryo’s voices.
“Okay don’t feel so bad about it. Just take this as a retribution. You sacrificed yourself by saving the queen. Now I let you have the luxury of just another life. and this stun.... will be the last of my magic...Long... you can do it... I believe in you...don’t disappoint me...” Ryo closed his eyes and smiled.
A few minutes later, the stun wore off.
“RYOOO.....” Long cried out. Flora continued to cry. She was screaming out loud too. Eclipse just froze, as if nothing had happened.
