Ntreev does not include it with the intent of harming your computer (I make this claim based upon assumed "good faith"). But, as addressed in my blog, the program is spyware by definition, disruptive to your computer's operation, and you are given no option to disallow installation and not informed of its installation prior to installing the game.

The blog was not aimed at Ntreev, they were used as a reference because the article started here. The blog's scope encompasses all publishers that utilize such "anti-cheat" engines.

In this case no however the it dose in many ways inflict our rights as we have not agreed for it to be ionstalled. in that sence and a few others mentions in noe's blog that makes it spyware

I still don't understand what motive they have to actually do something like that. Isn't spyware harmful and illegal?

No but the exes may request accses to a sever within ntreevs network or amay ask for user authentocation

Oh, it's been done in the past. Sony was sued for putting rootkits on their CDs that hid processes from the end user in an attempt to obfuscate their DRM enforcement (source: Wikipedia: Sony Rootkit). Gameguard itself performs actions without your consent; every time I connect to Grand Chase (Ntreev/GameGuard) or Albatross18 (OGPlanet/GameGuard), GameGuard closes my mIRC program stating that it's a virus. I'm not too keen on a program closing another program without my authorization. When you run Trickster as an admin user (on vista/this is the default on XP), you basically give that program unmetered authority to do whatever it wants on your system.

By Wikipedia and Merriam-Webster's definitons of "spyware", Ntreev does indeed install spyware on your computer - and so does every other game company that uses a similar "cheat protection" engine.

Spyware is computer software that is installed surreptitiously on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the user's interaction with the computer, without the user's informed consent.

they had announced that they were investigating possible people who cheat cardbattle….

As you say you would need the local server or the alternate server to sue most of these

If ntreev release permision i might make a batch file to clean up the mess as i dont belive they have the abuility to remove the files themselfs ;3
