I'll probably extend this later, since so many people ask the same questions, but these are the basics.
1. If you receive a message that says, 'Server and Version are not matching (1010)'.
Go to your Trickster folder, open up splash.exe which will open up the launcher. From the Launcher, click 'File Check'.This will check your Trickster folder to see if it has the necessary patch files to match the server.-If you could play the game previously, and there was just a recent patch, refer to section 12. "If you cannot connect to the game after a recent patch."
2. If you receive a message that says, 'A problem was found in Chatting filtering. Mark in File Check on the Start page and download the file again.'
This is similar to the 1010 error, so follow the same instructions:Go to your Trickster folder, open up splash.exe which will open up the launcher. From the Launcher, click 'File Check'.This will check your Trickster folder to see if it has the necessary patch files to match the server.
3. If you cannot use Gacha, or you have negative Myshop points.
First, please make sure you're using a credit card to get points. >.>Secondly, login using all lower case letters, and no numbers.
"HiT0k4ge" -> "hitkge"
When Myshop opens, let it load up, and click Gacha, which should auto-patch the first time you go in.If it doesn't, I believe you might have to reinstall (unconfirmed).
4. If you receive a message that says, 'Unauthorized IP for connection or checkup time :60000'.
This means that you are trying to log in from various places that have their own version of Trickster. This generally applies to Southeastern Asian countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Korea. Promptly use their website, as our servers will not allow you to get in.
5. If you receive a message that says, 'Disconnection due to abnormal connection'.
This can arise from a lot of problems. If you're using Windows Vista, make sure to set your program shortcut to 'Run as Administrator'.If you're using an old version of WindowsXP, it could just be the fact that your computer won't accept Trickster. It can also arise from a failed Gameguard scan, turn off firewalls, turn off viral protection, and excess programs. And try to let Gameguard do its job.Lastly, it can come from a weak internet signal, especially if you're coming from far away from California, USA, where the server is located.
6. If you cannot hear sound.
You are probably playing on Windows Vista, a quick-fix for this is to play something that has audio until you get to game start button, at which case you can turn off what it is that is making the audio files kick in.
Another method by GameSky, start Trickster normally, then at the login screen, bring up your 'Task Manager'. Click the 'Services' tab, find 'AudioSrv', and right-click and 'Stop Service'. Now right-click and 'Start Service'. Close your Trickster client, Task manager, and reload up your client.
7. If you receive the message and are stuck at the opening of your Launcher.a.
The first solution is just a precaution, but set splash.exe to 'run as administrator'. Your computer might not be willing to accept the scan of an ambiguous object scanning your computer for patch files. If this does not work, follow the next step provided by a fellow forum-mates:
b. 'Version Check Fail' or 'Cannot Connect Update Server'
Your ISP is not willing to recognize the patching process. In order to correct this error, you will need to acquire a new proxy address. There has been a short guide provided by LaFin on how to accomplish this.http://forum.ntreev.net/trickster/forums/60663/ShowThread.aspx#60663As suggested by MOVEITBUSTER, "After that you will get the update~but close the proxy address later so that it will patch considerably faster~"
8. If you receive the message, 'Unable to initialize screen. : Error number (5)'.
This means that the drivers for your graphic card isn't updated, and/or you don't have the correct version of DirectX.Link to most up to date version of DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=FFF5ED7D-3446-4583-B2C9-8DB1BC10B16E To update your drivers, go to your Control Panel, go to Device Manager, right click the video card and select Properties, and go to the Driver tab, and select 'Update Driver'.If this fails, you can search your video card on google, and the company that produces your video card should have the updates on their website.
9. If you are trying to play Trickster using an incompatible OS.a. Mac OS.
The Macintosh OS is currently not supported by Ntreev, and there doesn't seem to be any movement towards it ever being supported. As such, people have suggested that you download BootCamp, which allows you to install Windows and play Trickster. However, this is widely disagreed upon because BootCamp was not part of the original intention of Trickster. In other words, you're out of luck if you want to play on your Macintosh.
b. Linux
Unlike the Macintosh OS option of using an emulator, the emulator for Linux is known as Cedega and does not, and will not support Trickster. Another emulator known as WINE, used for the Linux OS cannot fully emulate the processes used within gameguard support by Trickster, as such, it is not possible to play Trickster on the Linux OS.
10. If you receive the message, 'Gameguard Error : Gamehack detected'.
This message will result in you receiving 'Disconnected from Abnormal Connection' upon login, so it is absolutely necessary to pass through Gameguard correctly. Gameguard can be funny sometimes, and pick up idle programs as illegal ones, and example things could be Messengers, Music Downloading programs, or even Internet Browsers. Make sure to turn off everything, as well as your Firewalls and Viral Protection. If this doesn't work, try turning off your Startup programs through the Control Panel to see what exactly Gameguard is picking up.
11. If you are disconnected from the game with the message, 'Exceptional Error'.
This is more of a bug than anything, but there are various sources as to why this is caused. The first, which is the most common, is caused by too many players trying to access the same in-game function at the same time, which creates a temporary disconnect of players. Examples would be warping through a portal, accessing the bank, speaking to the same NPC, and so forth. This will force a disconnect, and after a certain amount of time, you are free to reconnect. The second most common is an incomplete sprite database which comes from a corrupt download, or incomplete installation. Your only solution in this case is to uninstall and reinstall Trickster, which if followed by failure, means you have to redownload the game from a different mirror, and try again. This cause often occurs in people that just recently start Trickster, you are disconnected with the message upon the changing of maps. This usually indicates that your map database is incomplete. Go to your Trickster Online folder, to your data folder. Right-click, and check the Properties of your map folder, if it is any less than 1.12 gb, click on 'File Check' at the launcher. There are other causes to this problem, and it is unclear as to what else may cause the error (Exceptional isn't a very descriptive word. >.>).
12. If you receive the message, 'You can't access the server. Try again in a moment.' a. If you cannot connect to the game after a recent patch.
After running the patcher, if your game usually works prior to patches, and doesn't afterwards, there is a very simple solution. Go into your Trickster folder, and Right-click, Rename on your splash.exe. If you rename your splash.exe to either Trickster.exe, or Trickster.bin temporarily, it will not cause irreversible damage, and should let you by the launcher without any problem. As of late, it has become impossible to rename your splash file, as the launcher detects it as an incorrect patch, and changes it back, so this may not work anymore.
b. If you still cannot connect to the game after a recent patch.
The problem is for most people that they are using an old installer which doesn't have the correct coding missed from jumping too many patches. To avoid this problem, you will have to download the new installer, and reinstall the game, making sure that the patcher connects. If this still doesn't work, it will most likely be a connection problem.
13. If you open splash, and your client immediately closes.
First, make sure your firewalls are down, and no conflicting programs are running (I'm sure you've tried this already.)Some of the following things are mandatory, whereas some are not; but attempt the following precautions if the earlier doesn't work.Copy your Gameguard folder into your Trickster folder, if it's not already in there. Now access your DEP (Data Execution Protection) and add splash.exe to that list. In order to reach DEP, go to your Control Panel, and then under System Properties, go to the Advanced tab, click on Performance, and then Settings, and then adjust your Data Execution Protection from there. (Information derived from thebes and race, so if there's any problem with this, let me know).
Another option is to open your splash.exe from your Trickster folder, rather than the desktop shortcut. This is a temporary fix, and may not work for you.
14. If you receive the message, 'User mode is already in connection.'
This error does not occur because someone has hacked you, or anything like that, don't panic. It usually happens when you sign in, but not really sign in, such as logging in, leaving yourself at the character selection screen, and immediately logging out. Another example is if you log in, and Alt+F4, or crash out of the game, get disconnected... so forth. The server will run through your account to make sure it has all of its parameters unharmed before logging your character out, so that's why you receive the message that you're currently logged in.
You just have to give it some time, the server will automatically do a sweep for all characters in this state, and log them out after necessary precautions are taken for you to not lose data. After some maintenences, this function does not work like it should, which is why you, and many others, come up with this problem.
15. If you get the blue screen Windows error after/during Trickster gameplay.
Copy the message that comes up, and check with jedispooki's thread here: http://forum.ntreev.net/trickster/forums/thread/49278.aspx
16. If you receive the message, 'Trickster Launcher is now running.'
This problem is encountered when splash does not exit correctly, so you should open up your Task Manager. Scroll down and look for splash.dmy, and end the process.
17. If certain parts of your client aren't displaying correctly.
This problem usually occurs when the standard resolution set for Trickster isn't compatible with your computer. What you want to do is run Splash.exe, and at the launcher click 'Options'. Select and alter your resolution until you find what works for your computer.
18. If you receive the message, 'Map Move Failed! Returning to Start page.'
This problem is speculated to occur as the servers near the limit of their bandwidth per month (I'm making the assumption it's paid on a monthly basis). As such, certain portals will be incomplete, and will disconnect you from the server. After attempting to go through once or twice, the easiest way to fix this problem is to switch channels. Generally, this problem happens more on the populated channel, so just switch to the other. If there's only a single channel on the server you're on, there's not much you can do, it's solely server-side.
19. If you receive the message, 'Trickster.bin has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
This problem has started to occur when the client connected to your launcher is either not patched correctly, or not patched fully. Some users have found that it would work if you deleted Trickster, and completely downloaded a new installer (possibly from a different source).
If anybody else has anything to add, or any corrections as to incorrect information, let me know. I know there's a lot more that needs to be added, I just can't think of any right now.

I'm not nearly done yet. ;_;
*goes to add Version Check Fail*
EDIT: Good thing I submitted my thread, the power just went out. >.>
your Server and Version are not patching (1010) has the same code as the problem i have which says Matching instead of patching.. do you think you may have had a spelling error? or is my problem completly different? =x
It's the same problem, I typo'd it. Thank you.
It's corrected now. Did it help your problem?
Added 'Error number (5)'.
The Graphics display error.
Added playing on the Mac OS.
I wonder if there's a character limit to posts. >.>
Eventually, the first post will end up being like four screens worth of scrolling, and people might sue me for breaking their index fingers.
MOVEITBUSTER:erm....there was "supposedly"some gacha coins given out at the poppuri event but i cant even check it up.......course it just says:"server authorization has failed"....and everything i type is considerably(since i am so lazy)small letters
I think it has something to do with the autopatching of your Gacha. I would submit a 1:1 inquiry on it. Sorry. Please let me know though, so I can add it here, if you do find a solution.
