In all fairness, 99% of the beggars in trickster are non english speaking (i.e. BR)  players.  Just don't accept random trades and you rarely be bothered by beggars.

A lot of lower level beggars might  be non english speaking, but there's no doubt that 99% of everyone who's been asking me for quest items speak english just fine. I can't go for 15 mins without someone asking me "Do you have any [items]?" You'd think people at 100+ would be able to get their own items without a problem...

GKeyblade:

this is something we say on Grand Chase forums, and answers MANY things.

Welcome to Trickster.

More like welcome to MMORPGs. Can't be a single western localized MMORPG I haven't seen beggars on. Really.

It's very annoying and yes I find myself in the same situations at times. I dont mind getting items for others IF they really do have a hard time with it like Gunners at Coolems. Sometimes I help someone out who's lower level.

There was a time where I wanted to help almost everyone and didn't care much about giving items. That has changed. Now I often NPC quest items or go on sales.

You have to watch the big thing .... are they asking if you can help them because they really have a hard time OR are they just plain too friggen lazy. It also helps knowing what things some chars have the most problems with, which of course is again work for yourself to gain that knowledge.

You can play with them and sometimes its fun. (or not to play with them, but to seek Revenge!)

by now, you know many beggar's phrases so use them :D

lot of beggars cant write fast, so when someone wants to trade you, immediatelly write down something like this:

"Hey, im so desperate, could you help me, pls PLS? i have a problem to collect ice picks (or whatever you need), could you help me to get them?"

it really suprises them :) inexperienced beggars could even help you! :D

or you can make up another story, or even create non existing item and send them somewhere far away .... + tell them you will give them REWARD (like you have extra Blood sword ...)

once, there was a buffalo, trying to get some free equips ... and in the end he gave me lot of things but received nothing up

i still feel the shame :D

Ha.  MMOs are just people behind computers.  Personality plays the role, although people do change personalities for MMOs on occasion.

There is something I say about Grand Chase, and it's: "Holy steak* on a sandwich! People sure do complain in PvP!"

I do what I do to help anyways.  I have friends who ask me questions nonstop, but that's fine with me.  Just don't ask too many, like 29 messages in two minutes all questions (I timed the guy, we both talk really fast, even though English is not his main language.)

Asking me for help is fine by me, as long as I know you well and it's not something that'll break my wallet either.  I'll help with a coupla mill, sometimes even in the 10s of mills.  However, If you ask me when I first friend you (as in just met) to get you a complete blood set though, kiss your new friend/now deleted friend goodbye <3 (It's happened twice in my 3 years of playing)

The main reason Maple is filled with so many beggars is because they have TONS of players overall. Trickster doesn't have many and not many people even know about the game, whereas practically anyone who uses the computer frequently knows about Maple. Heck, when I went Toronto last year, I saw heaps of Maple ads on game shop doors lol.

I mean really... look at the amount of worlds Maple has, and each world is filled with tons of people. xD

But on another note, I usually ignore people asking me for stuff. I overall almost never want to talk to people ingame who aren't my friends. *bad talker and friend maker*

It's worse with me, when i got my Guardian a lot of people were whispering me things like: wow, where you get your guardian? how you get it? where do i start the quest? what level is your guardian? congrats! can you teach me how to get my guardian? how do you level sense type to my soul seed? do you have any extra secret cards i can have? ETC ETC ETC

I got mad and upset for a lot of questions, i remember was more than 300 questions in total in just 1 DAY! I were like, omg....

I had to start ignoring people, i'm sorry for those who i ignored. I simply answered to all: Use the guide at official forums, and still they keep me asking questions... And help too, since i'm high level all people abuse of my kindness.

Yeah, I watch for the personality of the person before deciding... lets see.... Who do I help....

  • People who speak another language
  • People who say "Please" more than once or says "Plz" "Plxers" or any other variants
  • People who ask for stuff I don't even have or can't even get without getting close to death
  • People who ask for stuff, without showing any effort themselves
  • People who ask for help politely, with a magic word, and show an effort to get the item themself (Called "Collaborating" to get stuff done faster)
  • People of the above bullet, who give me something I want in return.
  • People who ask for more than one thing at a time
  • People who ask for something Ultra rare or extremely hard to find; esp. in high quantities.
  • People around my level asking for a party quest.
  • People who ask for cash items or things that cost Way to much time
  • People of the 5th bullet, whom ask for Less than the required amount (3 Suncreams instead of 15, just for the sake of an example.)
  • People who keep their info Public and show good First impressions and excellent speaking skills.
  • People who follow you around until you give them what they want.

Just my list xP

Now you see me, in a few seconds you probably still will.
