Ive personally never made a lion..
but i've made a fox without myshop lv 160...
Without myshop IS harder than with.. but with MORE boss sets out now than ever, its a TON easlier than it used to be ^_^''
I know as a lion, you only get karan set, but you can get like, tombeth hat + stuff too x3

No character out thre is a fail. (Unless theres a character with a really weird build...)
I remember one of my guildmate's has a gunner fox (Now a Hunter Lord) with a build of 4141. Kinda hard at the first, but once you got the Karan set, you will be a happy lion. (If Marx and Nate is not evil.)
P.S. Right now I have a 4141 Buff... He survived so far in some crazy MQs he's taking. (To even the Lvl. and TM)

There's a few fails here and there. Namely, trying to put 4 in both Power and Magic...4222/2422/2242/2224 builds are a bit awkward too. I personally enjoy being a 2143 gunner lion (mostly 'cause I left him on the server a long time ago and was pleasently surprised to find him almost ready to use a gun). 4141 gunner works decently once you get all the reload skills--it's effectively the same as playing a 1441 soulmaster or dark dragon (both of which I plan to get, actually...I've got dragon and sheep en route).
Honestly, though, problems can arise if you pick a melee class and have less than 3 in charm...it's DOABLE, since they get shields, but it's a lot harder since they can't hit-and-run/"kite" like gunners/"ninjas"/mages/cardthrowers can. I love kiting classes in this game...it makes things more interesting and more painful =P
