I think I have the same problem as kurosukei. I have windows Vista too and can't play Trickster. But two days ago I was able to play it. Does anyone know how to disable that vista-thing? I will look for it.

Edit: No, in my case it can't be a vista update since the problems started yesterday and I haven't had an update since last month.

After running the patcher, if your game usually works prior to patches, and doesn't afterwards, there is a very simple solution.  Go into your Trickster folder, and Right-click, Rename on your splash.exe.  If you rename your splash.exe to either Trickster.exe, or Trickster.bin temporarily, it will not cause irreversible damage, and should let you by the launcher without any problem.  As of late, it has become impossible to rename your splash file, as the launcher detects it as an incorrect patch, and changes it back, so this may not work anymore.

I have a problem too. I use Windows Vista. I patched Trickster to 2.23.6 and did "Check Files".(Both didn't have a problem). But when I press Game Start, it says "TricksterClient has stopped working" and it closes.

After doing wht the guide said i still hab the exceptional error WHY!?

I am having the, "You can't access the server. Please try again in a few minutes" problem. I was able to play fine yesterday night, but now, when I'm entering my account information and try to log in, the error comes up, and I can't get in. D:

i am having the same problem of getting to the login screen with the new background of altheo and the 3rd dragon, fox, bunny, and buffalo.

but when i try to log in i get the "You can't access the server. Please try again in a few minutes."

i also have windows vista. trickster was working fine on the 20th before the maintenance, but since then i have been getting that message.

the updater looked like it had updated fine. i even uninstalled trickster entirely, and then redownloaded and reinstalled it, but the results were the same. i also tried the #12a solution of renaming the splash file but then a window pops up saying "Can't connect update server" and i dont think this has to do with my ip...

perhaps this a problem for all vista computers? TT_TT

it would be suuuper appreciated if a someone could trouble shoot for us... 

Hey Random I've been doing a lot of research on this, and some people even after the vista service pack were still able to play, mine stopped working right after the update. Not everybody's does that though. Like yours it keeps working. Some people also can get theres to work at random points if its tried often enough. Where it crashes my computer everytime I try I can't be bothered to waste the time. I am looking into a different solution. I discovered today which update it was and the day it stopped working. I know it stopped working after the Service Pack update for vista. Im going to uninstall the update and see what happens. If it works I will let you know.

Okay I just thought I would follow up on on my previous post. If anyone reads back on my previous posts, I was having trouble with number 13, I tried all the fixes there were. In my situation this problem didnt occur until the service pack for vista came out. So a friend that works as an IT tech suggested uninstalling the service pack. I did that today and TA DA! Trickster works fine now. So for anyone who had the same problem I did. (As long as the you have an older vista version) try uninstalling the SP1 for vista.

 

Go to Control Panel, then click on Programs, then click on view installed updates. Find the update labled Service Pack for Windows Vista and click it, then click the uninstall tab at the top of the list.

I keep getting the "Exceptional Error" bug after choosing my character. I've already made sure that it was not an issue with my map files (they're actually 1.50GB) and I've already reinstalled it. I'm currently re-downloading the client to see if I had a corrupt download or something. Can anyone help out?

i fixed the exceptional error problem now it says "TrixsterClient has stopped working" then closes before the log in screen comes up.
