I thought this news story is quite interesting and provides an insight into why the brazillian infestation cannot be solved if ever...and it also might explain why ntreev is so reluctant to take drastic measures to counter them.
The article reads:
SAO PAULO (AFP) – Brazil on Wednesday sought to uncover the cause of a massive and mysterious blackout overnight, amid concerns of energy supply stability for the 2016 Olympics host nation.
The outage, which hit at 10:15 pm Tuesday (0015 GMT Wednesday) and lasted around four hours, plunged nearly half the country into darkness after supply problems from the country's biggest power plant.
An estimated 70 million people -- more than a third of Brazil's 190-million-strong population -- were affected, according to the energy ministry, mainly in the major southern cities, including Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

I haven't been playing much lately, but when I did decide to play for a while last night,it was actually a NICE experience. No affing!!!
I couldn't believe it.
The server is usually full on BP 1 but it was only half full.People were speaking english.
I couldn't believe it!!!
Then I read this.
Believe it.
Conclusion....
Brazilians make up slightly more than 50% of the playing population at anytime.
Taking any tough action on them would ultimately destroy the server's player base.
It felt like playing in A18 again for a while...
I am sad now.
Maybe Brasilian people account for 50% of the overall Pangya community (which I doubt), but what would be interesting is how many of them do actually spend points on the game? (remove all the hackers, they prefer hack the shop and Gacha)
My thread has been deleted
Last time I checked the results:
21% wanted to leave.
41% wanted to stay.
And 38% wanted to try another version (no name otherwise it's defamation)
I found this news story astounding as well. I was watching it briefly on my local CBS station whilst playing Pangya and couldn't help but laugh my tukus off! It is both funny and sad at the same time...
I did think it was odd last night when I logged on and found the "top" server with plenty of room. I got 2 tournies in without a single hacker in sight too. It was only this morning when I read the newspaper about the blackout in Brazil that it became clear why the server loads were so light yesterday.
It did put some perspective into the number of players who are from BR (the hacking and non-hacking folks).

BP, the quest for tails: 175 tries 1 Red Bag Seen 0 Tails
I saw it on BBC News this morning while arriving into work and figured "I bet the Pangya guys had a fun night for once."
Pity I missed it.

ah thats why it was so peacefull last night I wish it was like that everyday I played 3 tourneys no affs no "super rookies" people were speaking english it was sorta like a dream D:

That's because most English speaking players have quit due to the pathetic state of this server. So yes, banning Brazil would kill half the server, but doing nothing then ultimately kills the remaining rule abiding citizens as well. Oh well it was fun while it last right? Ahuaheauheauheauehauheua
/raegquit this server
Man, I wish I had known this - I would have actually logged in and played here instead of playing on GOA.

darn I should I have played last night
Maybe Ntreev was testing out their super secret anti-hacking solution for the first time?
Hey Ntreev, I appreciate the efforts, and your method certainly did almost completely shut down hacking for a large period of time last night. But I must say the collateral damage is probably a bit excessive. Perhaps you should move on to a "Plan B" that doesn't involve plunging a large chunk of one of the most populated countries into complete darkness? j/k
You gotta wonder what the Thirteens were doing during the blackout, since they couldn't hack our happy little loligolf game.

I played last night. There were still plenty of hackers stealing first place in tourneys.

Which can only mean one of two things.
1. Some BRs were using laptops that they had charged beforehand.
2. We've got some American hackers in the pipes.
