Not to lead to something else. I'm asking for some help on how to learn ball slope/lie.

I seem to find a good spot I can note the slope and in time remember how much it is but I was wondering is there a way to read the slopes properly? I did try to adopt modifier method which works fairly well but when it comes to telling how many breaks it actually it is, it's a real pain in butt.

What I see complicated is telling difference between 1.6 breaks and 2. For example hole 9 in pink wind. A lot of times you'll end up with a slope leading to right. Mygo said it was 1.6 which did indeed work but then again on hole 15 there is similar slope but it's 2 breaks instead and I just hardly see any difference between them. My guess is that it has something to do with length of the outlined line.

Another thing, about those slopes in rough when both lines are outlined for most part and then there's a small break which sometimes can look similar to one in hole 9 of pink wind, for example blue lagoon hole 1 in rough at ~230y from tee(usually when you miss pangya).

Thanks for any help given!

Identical pictures can have different effects. Depends on the distance of the shot and where the breaks are occurring on the slope that dictate the variance.

In time you just memorise what works what doesn't (well that's how I do it anyway).

Well, slope isn't actually directly linked to your hwis. If you shoot stronger %, the slope effect will be proportionnally stronger related to your hwi than at weaker %.

As an explanation, what I do is 0,29 x modded hwi x breaks for 100% and it slowly decreases till it reaches 0,25 x modded hwi x breaks at 80% (for 1w toma only). So that COULD explain some of the differences between two slopes that look alike. Now, don't use those exact numbers because what I interpret as 0.9 break might be 1 for you and we could just be using different multipliers and both chip fine in the end. But this is just to say that there's a sizeable difference between 80% slope-to-hwi relation and 100% (fill in the blank in between the % gradually)

But all in all, the slopes displayed are not consistant in the least, ranging from fake flat slopes on TEES (as in, a flat straight line that actually IS sloped without showing it) to slopes that lean the WRONG way (Thankfully I know only one of the latter...but there's probably more).

So yes, if you want to reach the higher levels, you have to memorize slopes by heart, or quit trying to get records because it's really just dumb at that point.

That's why I used to toma so much when I wanted to set records, there's actually a lot of margin (erm...0,5 break of margin or something) to deal with misread slopes when you 80-85% tomahawk.

I don't agree you that H.I.W. and slope adjustment are changing in the same rate.

Yet, I do agree that there are spots that are showing fake slope, and I believe consistent tee spot and taking note of it is the most effective way.

I said they AREN'T changing at the same rate! Slope decreases (proportion-wise) faster than hwi. And there's no doubt about it. Of course if you learn slopes by heart on a given course, you can get away with using the same slope-to-hwi multiplier by sticking to your teeshots at all time.

Pretty useful tip here, then I can use this hint to see whichever side tilts more and count the slope.
