UPDATE: I would like to clarify, explicitly, our stance on real-world photos and the standard of proof we need to establish ownership of the costume. We require with real-world photos that you make your IGN visible in the picture itself (such as on a piece of paper). Now, if you have elaborate makeup for your costume, or so many accessories that it takes so long to put on your costume, or you paid for professional pictures and want to use those, you may have to get creative in satisfying the rules. You can either don the costume again and take a new shot with your IGN visible in the photo (which would be preferable), or you can take a picture of yourself with enough pieces of your costume and/or your ID (with the appropriate info blanked out) which clearly demonstrates beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are in fact the owner of the costume. What Stephy did later in this thread (specifically here: http://forum.ntreev.net/pangya/forums/p/8105/88888.aspx#88888) is acceptable because her ID (with the appropriate information blanked out, of course) establishes clear visual confirmation that it's her and establishes her identity. Now, we would prefer that she took new shots this year because the contest is really for this Halloween, but we wouldn't be able to prove when you took the photo anyway and we absolutely *don't* want to exclude people who have great costumes.
