No, job advancing does not raise your stats, but it does give you new abilities if you use the adv wep.

Should a party for 3 get more xp than one with four O_o.

Those are the requirement to job advance deal with it.. 300 pieces don't take forever, just a while... I suggest doing full runs with other people that also need the pieces.
