How do you chat with your friends directly from the friends list without having to use the whisper option? I double clicked my friend and even right clicked and nothing happened.

Right now, it's bugged due to the latest patch. Wait like until then next patch at latest and it will be fixed. For some reason, you cannot move/delete friends or use the Private Friends List whisper (This can only be accessed by right clicking a friend's name and clicking Start a Conversation), as they are all influenced by right clicking a friend's name. =/
EDIT: Fixed now.
or you can log on right now and right click.
