Well you know how this patcher takes SOO LONG when compared to other patchers in other mmo's?

Its because not only does it update but ALSO checks to see if you have ALL the same files and you can imagine how long that takes mad

But that is really odd because most games have a FILE CHECK button. So my suggestion is to disable the file checking part automatically and make it a button to use.

I mean the only reason they would do that would be so that incase you were missing something the game wouldnt run properly. WELL IF WE ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING THROUGH UPDATING AND DONT NEED ANYTHING ELSE THEN WHY THE HELL DOES IT NEED TO DO THAT EVERY SINGLE TIME?

If you just put a file check button instead it will only take about like 0.1 sec to check for updates and we can move on with our lives >_>;;

And suppose in the case of a missing file or gc messing up you press file check and bam it does it for you. I see no need to do it every single dam time -_-;;

Support or no?

It also checks if you don't use files from other servers (for instance, voice files) and other files.

The problem with this game is the files contain a lot of information which can be swapped or editted which most games contain either in the executable or in large .dat files. Swapping files can do things like remove monster AI so they act differently, or don't act at all, or modifying frames of animations so skills go off faster, or whatever. I'm not sure exactly what is possible, but it's possible to modify your client in ways which would allow you to "cheat".

In order to stop this, the client forcefully checks itself via the patcher each time the game is run in order to make sure none of this has been done. I do wish it didn't have to, as the game takes quite some time to get going, but there's not a whole lot they can do about it.

@Vpower - Actually it doesnt do anything even if you change voice files. My friend transferred all his korean voices and they never got repalced. Of course he removed them once he knew it wasnt allowed.

Gamegaurd already does protect files from changing during the game... how come in ntreev's other game they have a file check button and still got gameguard? I'd love an explanation. It barely has ANY hackers. So why not use that system here?

Its patcher loads in like 0.3 seconds if theres no updates, and there's A CHECK FILE BUTTON >_>;;

Not to mention it has alot more files then grand chase. Same type of game - mmorpg, same host - ntreev, same protector - game guard. YET that one LOADS 10x faster and has a file check button but not this.

Err the patcher isn't that slow. It only takes around 2-5 minutes for me.

My patcher take less then a minute... Sure if you have a celeron-D inside it takes that much , But with a dual core.. It takes 45 secs max.

Have a nice day =p

This is a low end game. Not everyone is using dual core systems. The game doesn't support multi-threading anyways, so your secondary core isn't being used. Furthermore, Celerons go up to 3.6ghz, so a high end celeron would outdo all but the most expensive dual or quad core systems because one core is all that's being considered.

Firstly, as for Trickster and PangYa, they're both MADE by Ntreev Korea. Gameguard is made by KOG. Different people making it.

Secondly, no gameguard doesn't do any such thing. Gameguard makes sure no bad processes are running, and no programs are trying to hook into the main.exe for GrandChase. People change their files BEFORE they load the game, to cause various effects. Gameguard would not stop this, because to do so it'd have to scan your files.

i would support this but loading is just something video gamers have to deal with. I wouldn't personally complain about the loading in this game because a lot is being added to our game when a patch is released.

usually, not during patch time.

QFT, GG is like a outer protective shell, which will only prevent "illegal" changes from external programs. when someone edits his files, its like an attack from inside the shell, so GG won`t know. If the files are correctly programmed, the basic protection of the game will read them as "legit" files.

This one's a winner!

It does ''re-download'' the voice files.... Unless they changed it >.>.
