Welcome to my Battle Mage guide. This is my first time writing a guide, so feel free to point out any errors I have made. You may even want to add on something I missed. Note that this is a guide entirely for dungeons. I am a pure dungeoner, and will not touch on pvp at all in this guide.

First up, I am a Arme specialist. I do not claim to be a Arme god, powerful to the point where nothing can stop me. I simply main Arme, therefore specialize in her. The purpose of this guide is to share my knowledge I have gained in my time playing Arme. You are reading this guide simply because you want to become better in Battle Mage, or if you already are, to discover some things that you did not know before.

Acronyms: (BM) Battle Mage

Table of contents:

1.   The basics

2.   Advanced moves

3.   Skills

4.   Interesting notes

The basics:

Everything must start with the basics, of course. And to start off, I shall mention the basics of the basics.

Back attack. Back attack. Back attack.

I cannot stress enough of this.

Back attack.

Or maybe I can.

Back attack is the most important element of dungeoning. Not just for Arme, but for each and every character that exists. Why? Simply because of the fact that it deals double damage.

Now that we have a clear understanding, let us move on the the basic attacks.

z+z...
Spamming the attack button will allow Arme to use flame wheels.

These flame wheels will go on for as long as you press the attack button, making a very nice infinite combo. The best position to use this is probably here:

...Where you have a nice cornered enemy who has his back facing you.

z+ -> ->
Tapping the directional button twice will allow Arme to knock down her enemy by using this fire attack.

This attack hits for quite some damage, and is extremely effective against super armoured, static, or unflinchable boss enemies.
Static enemies include the plants you find in Xena Border.

Note: If you are too close to the plants, this attack will completely miss. So make sure you are some distance away before using it. Same rules apply to small super armoured enemies.

Jump + down + z
This command will allow Arme to fire a digonal Fireball.

This fireball has infinite range, and will go on until it hits something, or dissapears into the floor. This fireball has the same damage as Arme's first class's fireball.

Jump + z
The standard jump attack. Arme makes a quite swipe with her staff.

This attack is very easily missed on enemies that are on the same platform as you are on. Therefore, the best way to use this attack is on an enemy on top of you, such as this:

-> -> + z
The standard dash attack. It allows Arme to use a small melee tornado to launch the enemy up into the air.

Advanced techniques:

Now that we are done with the basics, let us move on to the advanced stuff.

Infinite wand swipes:

The infinite wand swipes works in the same way as a thief jump attack. If you master the use of this attack, you can kill an enemy from full hp without it ever fighting back.

First, you have to find a enemy on a platform. This is the most ideal position. Please note that in order to completely negate the enemy's ability to fight back by using super armour, you have to hit their back.

Once you have your target locked on, you will unleash this attack. This is the command.

Dash jump + z , down + z , repeat.

Looks pretty simple. But if you screw up a little, your combo will break, giving the enemy a slight chance of fighting back.

This is roughly how it looks like in action:

Infinite whirl wind juggle:

The infinite whirl wind juggle is... a infinite whirl wind juggle. The input is extremely simple.

Dash + z , repeat.

Basically, you launch an enemy into the air with a whirl wind. Before it touches the ground, launch it up again. If done correctly, you can kill an enemy with full hp without it fighting back.

The scary Fireball Machine Gun Of Doom:

Or TSFMGoD for short...

http://forum.ntreev.net/grandchase/forums/t/41128.aspx

Learn this one from this thread. Credits goes entirely to Zhon.

Note: Due to the new skill tree, TSFMGoD will be harder to do if you have the digonal/air teleport equipped. This is because in TSFMGoD, you will need to tap twice down at some point. If you have air teleport, you will teleport down the platform, making it impossible to use a fire ball.

Skills:

Ah yes, the skills. BM has a wide array of powerful skills for you to use. Every single one of them has a unique way of using. First up:

Fire Burst:

The first bar black magic. Arme will create a fire ball/wall directly in front of her. This fire will not move, and will stay in that position for the full duration of the skill.

This skill is not effective on normal enemies that can be pushed back, but is very effective against static/cornered enemies.

Note that this wall is probably a defensive move for pvp, but for dungeons, it is not every effective defence wise. I don't use it much, except for cornered enemies, or those plants in Xena Border. It does very good damage on them.

Shock Wave Force:

The second bar black magic. Arme calls down lightning from magic portals and hits the enemy for quite some damage.

This skill is weaker than it's white magic counter part. However, it covers a nice horizontal range. I personaly use it only when I am surrounded by enemies, on top and on my platform.

Note that this skill does not hit enemies below you.

Deep Impact:

The third bar black magic. This skill is probably Arme's most famous skills. Calls down a huge number of meteors that fall from the sky. Deep impact meteors does not share the same characteristics as the mage's meteor. Deep impact meteors will fall from where your back is facing.

Note that unlike meteor, deep impact will hit one platform below you. It will not hit more than that, however, unless the said platform has holes in it. Also, unlike meteor, deep impact does not hit the entire map. The range of deep impact is about the range of this map found in Marsh Of Oblivion.

The area that this map shows covers about the range that Deep Impact covers.

Note: While Deep Impact covers a huge range, it is actually quite easily missed. This is because there are a lot of holes that small enemies can slip into. I have used it before on Dark Anmon, and completely missed him. I was shocked. =/

Ice Ball:

The first bar white magic. Arme throws a snow flake across the screen, freezing and damaging and monsters that stands in its path. This attack will deal damage about 4-5 times on a single monster while passing through it.

Note that this attack does not cover the whole map. It will slowly fade away. The range of this attack is about one and a half screens. After that, it will completely fade away.
Also note that while it is fading away, it will still hit the enemy. It will do damage as long as you can still see it, no matter how faint.

Freezing spear:

The second white magic. This move hurts. A lot. Ouch.

Arme create spears of ice that has a range of half a screen. Bascially, it will attack any enemy that you can see. These spears will launch your target up into the air, where it will be hit again for at least once. Sometimes, it hits twice.

Because it launches enemies up, it will deal double damage on the next hit, making this attack extremely powerful. Use it on clusters of enemies for maximum effect.

Note: If you use this attack on an enemy at point blank range, it will deal damage only once. Bascially, it will simply launch the enemy into the air. That's it. No second hit. So make sure that the enemy is some distance away from you before you use this skill. Same rules apply to an enemy too far away.

Air Blast:

The third bar white magic. Imma firin ma lazorz.

Yeah. Arme fires a lazer made of wind from her wand. This lazer has an infinite range. This attack is extremely strong, and will literally rip anything apart that is unfortunate enough to be in its path. It has no problems killing enemies in one hit, even on a front attack.

But there is a catch. The further the enemy is, the lesser damage it takes. If the target is at the other corner of the map, the damage will be so low that you're better off using an Ice Ball.

More information shall be covered in the next section.

Interesting Notes:

Deep Impact VS Air Blast:

The eternal battle. Many people prefer to use Deep Impact over Air Blast, because it seems stronger. I mean, who wouldn't like seeing beautiful meteors destroying the map right? However, here, I attempt to explain why Air Blast can be more powerful than Deep Impact.

Let me explain by using these pictures. I shall call the first picture "area A", second picture "Area B", and third "Area C"

Because the images are cut off, here are the links:

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/isayomg/air1.jpg

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/isayomg/air2.jpg

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/isayomg/air3.jpg

Now. Area A is the "Normal damage area"

Area B is the "Maximum damage area"

Area C is the "Least damage area"

Anything in Area A will take normal damage. Anything in Area B will take double damage. Anything beyond Area C will take halved damage.

Now. In Area A, the damage of Air Force is more than the damage of one direct Deep Impact meteor, but is a tad weaker than two meteors.

This would mean that in Area B, the damage of Air Force will be more than Three Deep Impact meteors.

The chances of hitting three meteors on one target is very low. Unless the target is very big. Even then, the chances of only one meteor hitting that big target is high.

However. Area B is extremely small. It is highly diffcult to successfully get a target in Area B. There is also the problem of aiming. If you are not used to it, trying to fire an enemy into Area B might instead land it on Area C instead. Which is a bad thing.

I only use it when someone is tanking the boss in the corner, and I am sure that I can hit the boss directly in Area B. In other cases, I use Deep Impact and hope that more meteors will hit the target.

More coming up!

Images of Deep Impact and Air Blast Damage. I will put them up when I am free. The purpose is to further find out which one of these two skills is better on a boss.

And that is the end of my guide. Hope you found something useful. If you have any questions, post here, or send me a convo, and I will be glad to answer them. Good luck with Battle Mage!

Yes you can. One thing, however.

It is extremely difficult to do.

...While taking screen shots at the same time.

T_T

I'll try to put it up when I have time.

Nicely done; the pictures are a great help. I never knew about the Air blast before; I just went close to the enemy, and used Air blast.

Guides missing a few things:
-Meditation
-Shockwave Force is most of the time, uncounterable.
-Deep Impact has no Skill Freeze
-Deep Impact Meteor is counterable, but the Impact is not.
-Freezing Spear can be avoided by jumping, thus missing or only hitting once.
-Air Blast makes a VERY LARGE NOISE when activated, so it alerts everyone (assuming they didn't mute Sound Effects).

That would be how to kill or avoid a BM, except for the bolded parts.

"-Air Blast makes a VERY LARGE NOISE when activated, so it alerts everyone (assuming they didn't mute Sound Effects)."

This may be true, but what good is it if you're being hit by the skill?

First, this is a DUNGEON guide, i bet you didnt read it.

Secondly, Deep impact DOES have a skill freeze, it's just after an animation.
