Trick or Treat, Knights!

By royal decree of the Queen of Serdin, this year's All Hallow's Eve festivities will be celebrated with a grand Masquerade!

It's time to let your creativity shine and don your best Halloween finery.  Maybe you've found the perfect armor set to showcase your Halloween spirit, or perhaps it's a mashup of different parts that put it together.  Perhaps it's your accessories that will set you apart this year.  In this world, every outfit is a costume, so anything goes!  Just remember that it's not a proper Masquerade if we can see your face, so be sure to bring your favorite mask too!

We will be judging for the top three costumes based on creativity and spirit, so start thinking of ways to dress to impress.

For creative types of an "otherworldly" nature, we want to see your real costumes too!  That's right, if you're thinking of cosplaying as a Grand Chase character this year, or have any other interesting real world costume to show off, we're going to choose three MORE winners who wear a costume in the real world.  Because the Queen of Serdin does not rule over Earth, her royal decree cannot compel you to wear a mask, but you can (dance) if you want to.

Remember that it's not always the shinest, flashiest, most expensive costume that's the best; we're looking for the big picture here!  Who has a costume for theirself or their character that lets the world know "It's Halloween!"?

For the especially ambitious, we strongly encourage you to submit yourself to both costume contests as it's definitely possible to win two prizes.

Alright Knights, it's time to hit the armor rack and show us what you've got!

Key Details:

Who: Both contests are open to all Grand Chase players with a valid Ntreev USA game and forum account in good standing.
What: A Masquerade (costume contest) for your in-game character and/or your real world Halloween costume!
When: From October 12th, 2009 until the end of Halloween at 11:59 PM on October 31st, 2009.  Winners will be announced the following Monday.
Where: You may take a screenshot of your character anywhere in the game, but remember that we're judging on creativity, so a thematically appropriate location for your costume is a major plus!  Same goes for real world photos, too.
Why: To celebrate Halloween with an awesome excuse to dress up and show off.

How to enter:

For Best Screenshot:

• Take a screenshot of your character wearing your costume
• The screenshot must be of your in-game character; screenshots of other characters will not be accepted
• The character must be wearing a mask.  "Face" masks such as Patronizing Mask are acceptable

For Best Photo:

• Take a photo of yourself wearing your costume
• The costume does not need to be Grand Chase related, but that would be awesome!
• Your character's In-Game Name must appear in the photo itself (Such as on a piece of paper held up in the shot, for instance)
• You do not need to wear a mask to enter the real world contest

For Both Contests:

• Post your entry as a reply to THIS THREAD
  
• If you wish to enter both contests, include both entries in the same reply
• Please see detailed instructions below if you need help adding a picture to your post
• The file format must be JPEG
• The file size must be no larger than 2 MB
• The picture resolution must be no larger than 1280 x 1024 and no smaller than 640 x 480
• While it is acceptable to edit your photo/screenshot, we will not accept alterations of pre-existing Grand Chase artwork.
• The entry must include your IGN

Posting Instructions:

1. Please upload your entries to our forum directly by clicking the "Insert Media" button when making a reply
2. Select your entry image from your computer.  Don’t forget to specify the appropriate resolution of the image
3. If you do not see the "Insert Media" option, click the "Edit" link at the very top of the forums
4. Make sure that the "Content Editor" option under the "Site Options" tab is set to Standard or higher
5. Repeat this process in the same reply if you wish to enter both contests

Prizes:

For Best Screenshot:

• 1st Place - 8 Gacha Coins
• 2nd Place - 6 Gacha Coins
• 3rd Place - 4 Gacha Coins

For Best Photo:

• 1st Place - 10,000 Ntreev Points
• 2nd Place - 7,000 Ntreev Points
• 3rd Place - 5,000 Ntreev Points

Rules:

1. Judging and administration of contest rules will be at the sole discretion of Ntreev USA staff, all decisions are final.
2. Winners will be announced publicly on Monday, November 2nd, 2009
3. All entries must be appropriate and in observance of the Terms of Use agreement at all times
4. Players may not post anything other than an entry on this official contest entry thread; all posts that do not include a picture of their real world or in-game costume will be removed
5. Players may enter one or both contests; entry into both is not required
6. Players may only enter each contest once.  We ask that if you are entering both contests that you please include both entries in the same post
7. All entries must adhere to the technical standards described above
8. A valid Ntreev USA forum and game account in good standing are required in order to participate
9. All entries must include your character's in-game name in the image, and must be posted from that character's account.

When we say "Your character's In-Game Name must appear in the photo itself (Such as on a piece of paper held up in the shot, for instance)", this means that the addition of your IGN must NOT be edited into the picture.  This allows us to verify that only you are able to claim credit for your costume.  Otherwise, what's to stop another player from taking your carefully-crafted outfit and claiming it (and the prize) as theirs?  For an example of what we're talking about, see how GM_Harleekwin has done it:

 I'm not sure if this is eligible or not, since I'm wearing a hat which covers my whole head and acts like a mask. ( FYI I was wearing a vampire mask underneath it).

If it isn't eligible please let me know so I can take another screenshot without the hat.

I'm not sure if it's allowed to use the halloween hat, but because it covers my face I assume it's alright. My Ign is ICastPizza, as stated on the screen below.

Since we had to have the IGN in it I couldn't use my previous cosplay costumes >< but I ended up buying a cute blue sewing machine and got this one churned out in about 3 days xD yay! Now I have a costume for Halloween. Don't make fun of it pweese >_<

I felt that my Absolute Power set works for this contest, it covers the face anyway.

If it isn't appropriate please inform me as I do have a mask, but it kinda makes the costume less epic.
