Rating feature was part of the old forums too, most people just didn't use it..or in your case...notice it.
EDIT: Something i just noticed. When a friends request is sent, nothing is received on the other's end...or at least i havent noticed anything when someone attempted to add me :/

There is no longer a PM system. This may be added soon, but I assume the "Conversation" system was designed to replace it..And that currently isn't working.

Added a workaround for checking out Friend Requests, so if you're not sure whos requesting you, read about it in Section 4! :)

Wow this was really helpful, was a bit lost and trying to find a PM system for a while. Also that way to check how many friends are requesting you is useful. Arigato for teh guide.

Found this...it appears an inbox won't be happening.
Private Email - User's private email address to which private messages can be sent by clicking on the Conversations link that appears on the user's profile page.
So if an inbox like thing were to happen...Ntreev would have to personally code it.

Can you not put animated gifs... into annoucements O.o or bio?
You can put them in your bio, and announcements, you just can't use the image tags. There's a (I think new) icon next to the "unlink" icon called "insert Media" it looks like a film strip with a plus on it, you click that, click the "From URL" tab put in the image URL (you can put in the size of it if you want but I don't think you have to) then click "Insert" at the bottom. You may need to make the Insert Media window bigger if you're trying to put it in an announcement (I had a problem with it because the window wasn't large enough so I couldn't select the inside frame, just make it larger and it'll work) The image you're trying to use should show up in the text box if you've done this right.
Also, avatars are working ^_^
