I just spent over an hour making this guide.

*edit* I guess laziness doesn't get me far... I'll post the whole thing on here, instead of linking to register to view it.

Welcome! I am zero721ms, as the name implies. I currently run with a Lv 31 Elesis, and I have been playing since the Valentines Day event.

Elesis's speed is the fastest in the game, tied with Ronan, and outclassing Lire and Arme by far. Her skills keep her invincible over a long period of time, and do a good deal of damage. Gouki has shown me that her speed can be increased by at least double her dash speed, which is something I have yet to successfully replicate.

First, some General Information on Elesis:

sources taken from:

http://grandchase.ntreev.net/Guides/guide_intro.aspx

Elesis:

AGE : 15
Favorite Activity : Intense Battles
Pet Peeve : Easy Battles

Elesis is a Kanavan Knight and daughter of a Kanavan Tracker who never returned after he was dispatched to find KazeAze. She is an exceptional swordsman who has been trained by her father since birth. While she is on a journey to find her father, she hears news about Kaze’aze in the Serdin Kingdom. Hiding her true identity, Elesis joins Grand Chase in hopes of finding her father.

CHARACTERISTICS
Elesis is feared by her enemies for her powerful attack skills that instantly wipe out entire groups of monsters. She leads her team at the front line of battle, advancing against enemies while defending her allies against enemy Archers and Mages. When she charges her enemies, they go down without having a chance to retaliate. Elesis has 80% more defense points against Archer’s arrows, and suffers the least amount of delay among the Grand Chase members when inflicted with powerful damage from enemies.

Elesis's skills:

1. Knight

Mega Slash
(Grade 1) Knight’s 1st grade skill that consists of three sword thrusts, followed by a powerful downward blow. This skill inflicts a decent amount of damage despite its low grade, and the momentary invincibility during the delay after this attack can be used to the player’s advantage.

Sword Fire
(Grade 2) Knight’s 2nd grade level attack that enables the user to shoot a powerful sword sphere at multiple enemies. This skill can also inflict damage to other enemies behind the targeted enemies, and is perfect to reverse situations in which Knights are cornered by enemies.

Critical X
(Grade 3) Jump high to deliver a crushing downward blow from the air. This skill is very effective on enemies that are positioned higher than the user. Critical X has greater attack strength than Sword Fire, but suffers from a lower accuracy rate. This skill is used more frequently to battle giant monsters in Monster Expedition and Quest modes rather than in Fight mode.

Now that I have given you the basics that Ntreev has made available, lets expand a little. I have discovered many time-tested rules, that all Elesis users should stand by, should they want to win. These are some general rules I have encountered

General Rules:

1.) Always move, never stand still. Field control is the best ability Elesis has. Her speed can be manipulated to control how enemies move on the field, and use their locations to her advantage.

2.) Never hold in the charge for your move, unless you meet one of the subconditions below. Your 1 bar skill can save your life, you don't want to lose it dashing into a Fireball. Plus, the amount of time you spend knocked down can allow enemies to swarm over you, setting you up for some major damage.
a.) Subpoint 1: You can charge your MP to use your "MP shield". Basically, this is where you are in the middle of being hit in a combo, and you charge your mp as far as it goes. You will lose that MP and get knocked down, preventing further damage, but the enemy can potentially hit you when you come back up if they realize what happened fast enough.
b.) Subpoint 2: You should charge your MP if you plan on hitting an enemy with Air Spiral. The conditions allowing for this are rare, and will be discussed later.

3.) You rule. Yes, Elesis is an awesome character. But your personal health and satisfaction is more important. If you are exhausted, your hands hurt, you are hungry, or need to finish homework, or just want to play with your friends in real life, then go ahead. We understand that people have commitments, and you should honor those. Your commitment to your body is the greatest. If you are in top shape in real life, you should also be in GC.

4.) Mind the MP of your opponent(s). Your MP starts on empty, along with Lire and Ronan's. Arme's starts out at 1.5 bars. Unless Arme is standing still, each character regenerates the same amount. If Arme is standing still, she gains double the amount. If your opponent hasn't used a special in a while, be wary, and approach with caution and at least 1 bar of MP.

5.) Try to keep at least a bar of MP at all times. Your 1 bar attack has insanely long attack animation, can interrupt other people's attacks over a good period of time, and makes you invincible during it. This will be your main defensive move, as you can avoid the entire duration of Shooting Star, Meteor, and Kanavan strike with these (the three bars of the other 3 characters).

6.) If you are playing the same opponent multiple times, try to see what they do. If they dash toward you from the top of the screen everytime, next time, dash to where you can hit them mid-dash, or throw them.

7.) Record videos of hard opponents. (Press Ctrl and 1 at the same time during battle, watch in Replay under Server tab) You can find what you did wrong, and how you can improve. Improvement is always good.

You saw Elesis's skills, right?

Well, here are all of the skills that I have discovered for myself!

notes:

up arrow: ^
down arrow: v
left arrow: <right>
dash: D
attack: Z
jump: J

1.) ZZZZZ. The basic attack combo. Ends with a powerful slash, capable of killing Fatal opponents.
2.) ZZZZZ^. The advanced attack combo. Has the slash at the end of the ZZZZZ combo, but then slashes upward, and downward. End hit capable of killing Fatal opponents.
3.) ZZ^. The short combo. Two slashes, a slash upward, and the Fatal-killing slash downward.
4.) ZZZ^. One more slash than the combo above. Slightly more stylish than ZZZZZ.
5.) DZ. A running slash downward, doesn't usually kill on fatal, but has done so on occasion. Up to two hits.
6.) JZ. A standard jump attack. Does 1 hit, and doesn't usually kill on fatal, but can.
7.) JDZ. A jumping dash attack. Same as DZ, but in the air.

Combos:

1bar, 2bar. Release the 1 bar attack. While the opponent(s) are trapped in it (final part of slash not yet executed), quickly charge and release your 2bar. They cannot escape, for the most part, and take the full attack. Highly damaging.

ZZZZ, wait, ZZZZ, wait, etc. The slow ottoshot. I call it ZZZZ, but in actuality, I just keep pressing Z until Elesis begins the animation for her two-hit thrust, then stop. The second after the thrust ends, I keep pressing Z until that moment again, and continue with the process. Not much use in PvP, but very helpful in Dungeons. Or against complete newbs.

ZZZZ, 2 bar. After the thrust animation begins, charge your magic, and release the 2 bar. The enemy can escape, if the timing is right, but it can usually trap them with the thrust, and connect.

ZvZvZvZv etc. (has to be on ground that you can phase through). The fast ottoshot. I might be completely wrong with this. I also find that holding the direction toward the enemy helps. I only pull this off with luck. Its virtually an infinite, fast hitting combo that brings an enemy to fatal within seconds.

And now, for the Character-Specific Guidelines.

Against Lire.

With the original 3 characters, each one was strong against one, and weak against another.

Elesis > Lire
Lire > Arme
Arme > Elesis

So, in this regard, I will discuss fighting Lire first.

-To defend against arrows, simply hold the arrow key toward the arrows being fired at you. I prefer dashing into them.

*Dalchie*

"Investigating and things I found that Elesis has an 80% of defending a arrow. And from that 80% a 20% is chanced to deflect it. Not really necesary to hit the arrow, unless you have the Wii Sindrome...

That means a 20% deflect, 60% defend, and 20% you eat an arrow... " (note, I do have Wii syndrome.  Brawl is calming that down).

1.) Keep your distance. Lire is a distanced fighter, and presumably, distance should be her forte. It isn't however. Her 2bar and 3bar attacks do a lot of damage at close range, and her grab is particularly easy to pull off, especially after one of these hits.
2.) Should Lire shoot her 1bar, try deflecting it! Its a quick way to save your health, and take a small chunk of theirs. At least defend against it, which drastically reduced the damage.
3.) Avoid the front of Lire, when applicable. Lire shoots arrows in front of her, and can grab from the front and back. If she is in front of you, and she is open, feel free to combo into her face, but while maneuvering around the field, keep this in the back of your mind.
4.) If you are sent into the air by Lire's 2 bar, defend! A fatal Elesis can survive this attack, merely by defending against the last of the arrows.

-Your 1 bar is your friend.

1.) Against Lire's 1 bar: Your attack lasts longer, and spammed 1bars of Lires will all phase through you, granted your second sword swing has gone through.
2.) Against Lire's 2 bar: Not exactly recommended, as the animations last about the same time, giving Lire the opportunity to grab you afterward. I'm not saying there is no chance you won't get a complete 1 bar off on them, it is possible. Just time the release toward the end of the attack, if you aren't directly in range.
3.) Against Lire's 3 bar: This is a complete life saver. If you are far away, yet within arrow range, you won't take a speck of damage, and you risk virtually nothing. In close range, you can actually get a combo off, if the Lire doesn't move out of the way quickly.

Against Arme:

Many lower leveled Elesis users often are easily destroyed by Arme's meteors and fireballs, and even in higher levels, these attacks are still problematic.

I will list all of Arme's attacks, and what you should do against them.

Magic Circle (her ZZZZZ attack): Whatever you want, you won't take damage. If you get hit full on, you will be trapped and moved backward for a distance and time. Avoid, if you feel like it. Don't run into other attacks just to avoid this.

Earth Wave (her vZ attack in mid-combo). Waves of energy shoot out from underneath and around Arme. These can stun you, do multiple minor hits of damage, and leave you open to a throw, a special attack, or another Earth Wave (if timed right). Avoid this attack. It is generally easy, as it has limited range. Try to dash away before jumping, as the attack works in a funnel shape. Can kill you on fatal

Air Slash (her jumping attack): A small blade of air erupts from the front of Arme, potentially scoring multiple hits, and stunning you for the briefest moment. Can be used in a combo, as Shishi regularly demonstrates, and used to knock you down. It is fast, and if you are in range, you will be hit, but it doesn't do enough to warrant wasting a 1bar. Unless you are about to be comboed. Can kill on fatal.

Dash Grab (explanatory): If you are in attacking range of an Arme, you always have to be wary of this. Arme is invincible during this, and grabs always do a good amount of damage. As these are so quick to pull off, you really can't block it, just keep away unless you can get Arme in a combo, grab, or special move. Kills on fatal.

Fireball (DZ): This move is one of the most dangerous, yet, it is so common, that using your special to evade isn't truly worth it. It travels an infinite horizontal distance ( <--------->), can knock you back slightly, does a good amount of damage, and can kill on fatal. This is often spammed. The best method of countering this is to stay on different ground. On a multiplayer battle, you can sit out, and avoid these, until Arme starts using different attacks. As always, Arme is mostly invincible during dash part.

Dash: Not an attack, Arme becomes invisible and invincible, and moves a certain distance. Often comboed into a throw or used to fire a fireball. You can also grab during this, and your specials can only hit the enemy once they become visible again.

Stone Curse: Arme's 1 bar, it is usually cast at the beginning of matches. Quickly jump out of the way the second the battle starts, and laugh as everyone is turned to stone below you. While casting this, Arme can be grabbed, and at the end, she is vulnerable to normal attacks. Just avoid being in the general area in front of her. Kills on fatal

Lightning: Arme's 2 bar, it fires at an infinite horizontal range, and can be aimed up or down in a line coming from the user. If you are in it, and not using a special, you will be stunned and struck repeatedly for minor damage. Try to be directly above or behind Arme whenever she has enough MP to use this. If you are directly in front of her when the lightning goes off, you will be stunned long enough for the Arme to grab and throw you. Usually a lethal combo. Lightning can kill on fatal.

Meteor: Arme's 3 bar, Meteors fall from the sky, coming from the direction the Arme is looking at, and moving toward the Arme. Most effective against enemies next to her, avoid at all costs. Can usually kill you at nearly full health, if enough meteors strike you. Avoid by either using a special as Arme yells out, "Meteor!", or by taking cover next to a wall or the opposite stage corner. I prefer using the 1 bar next to her, as the last few slashes can hit.

Savior: Arme's other 1 bar, a green shield is placed around Arme. It can buy her a few extra hits of damage, and can also leave an opening in the game timing for her to dash and grab you. Avoid being nearby at the time.

Land Scamper / Reverse Gravity: Arme's other 2 bar, a green energy field (harmless) arise, and any enemies above, below, or close to the sides of her are thrown upward, for moderate damage upon landing. If you land next to Arme, she can also grab you, or hit you with a stone curse. Avoid by either using a 1 bar next to her, anywhere in the attack range, or by quickly moving to the opposite side of the screen. After seeing this move a few times, you will know the range (shown by the green field roughly). Can kill on fatal.

Cure: Arme's other 3 bar, it cures any of her party members nearby. 90% of the time, it was a mistake by the Arme in question, and the other 10%, it was just a bad decision. Prepare to attack.

General Strategies against Arme:

1.) Avoid her. It might be cowardly and "un-knight-like", but dashing into a flurry of fireballs and lightning is just idiotic. Avoid the attack range of here moves. As time goes by without her using magic, always keep a 1 bar handy should she use Meteor, or another skill.

2.) Back Attack. Again, unknightlike, but Arme's moves (lightning and stone curse specifically) leave her back exposed. Prepare a grab, or a combo, or a xbar skill.

3.) Attack from above. If you run little chance of being hit by land scamper or meteor, go for non-air dash attacks. These can disrupt Arme's charge, knock them down, and do good damage.

Against Elesis:

This is probably one of the more difficult situations you will find, but it can easily be to your advantage.

You will see one bars flying everywhere in multiplayer, if someone else is a Lire or an Arme. That is a fact.

1.) Avoid being in front of Elesis. As you should know, none of Elesis's moves protect her back. Perfect opportunity for a set up for an attack.

2.) Attack from the sky! Both of your aerial moves can knock an Elesis out of their air dash. Your air dashing attack is better to knock them far away, while your non-dash air attack is better to knock them down, and set up for combos.

3.) Outspeed them! A battle against an Elesis is a battle for the field. Control it. Pick off weakened enemies, hide when you need to, and go in for the death strike when applicable.

4.) Fire your attack slightly after theirs. If your opponent has a 1 bar and they just release it, release yours! Their attack will hit while you are invincible, but yours will hit when it hurts.

5.) If they are using 1 bar, do not 1 bar them from behind. They can escape easily, taking little to no damage.

A hard fight, just be better than the opponent. Following general strategies will also help.

Against Ronan

Ronan is the newest addition to Grand Chase. He has the same speed as Elesis, and uses a sword, but also has access to magic.

I will go over how they are similar and different.

-Elesis has one set of bar skills, while Ronan has two (black and white).
-Ronan's 1 bar doesn't have as long of an attack animation as Elesis's.
-Ronan's dash can be more easily comboed into a throw.
-Ronan's dash attack send enemies upward, while Elesis's send them downward.
-Ronan has distanced magic attacks, you really don't.

Ronan's skills, and how to avoid them.

Dash: Not really a skill, but it is the same as yours. Just attack midway, or grab them. You can also be attacked or grabbed this way.

Dash attack: Ronan swings his sword upward, sending you upward. You could potentially be juggled this way, and it has a good horizontal range. Not sure if it kills on fatal, but it can be comboed into other moves, so avoid if you can.

Ragna Bolt: Similar to Fireball, but you don't suffer extensive knockback, and it has limited horizontal range. You will be knocked back enough to where you can be comboed into other moves, so avoid being in range unless necessary. Also not sure if it kills on fatal, but I would assume so. The combo afterward will be able to kill, most likely.

Normal combo attack (ends with either blue fire puffs, an upward slash, or a quick up and down slash). Just avoid being in front of. All moves of this type are generally hard to pull off, but near impossible to escape. Can kill on fatal.

Rune Spiral (1 bar): A small spike of blue energy shoots from in front of ronan, scoring up to two hits. Can be comboed into another 1 or 2 bar skill, or a quick grab. Avoid. Can kill on fatal.

Holy Bless (other 1 bar): Increases the attack of all the caster's allies standing in range. He is left open to grab or prepare an attack, but Ronan's can use the time lapse to dash and grab anyone in range immediately after. Attack itself does no damage.

Giga Crash (2 bar): A quick striking sword combo, launches enemies in range upward, then makes a pillar of light erupt from in front of him, doing a good amount of damage. If you are hit by this, you really can't escape, unless you fall out of it during the sword strike stage just before you are launched, or if you can directionally influence your landing away from where the light pillar comes out. Can kill on fatal (last hit)

Blast Bomb (other 2 bar): A large meteor falls from a distance in front of Ronan doing a great deal of damage, knocking target down, and leaving a trail of fire that can damage people for a short time afterward. Insanely easy to avoid (unless you are in the middle of being attacked by another player). The caster is open to grabs or attack set ups here. Usually a mistake cast in 1 v 1. Can kill on fatal.

Kanavan Strike (3 bar): Ronan jumps upward, slams his sword into the ground, and a large blue field (about 3/4 of screen width, and spreading along the ground level to Ronan) appears, shooting sword-shaped projectiles upward, doing lots of damage. Avoid at all costs. If you see Ronan jump straight upward, and make a noise, either unleash your 1 bar, or run far away, fast. Can kill on fatal.

Lunatic Force (3 bar): The slow moving counterpart to Arme's Fireball, this blue orb of energy slowly moves away from Ronan. The first enemy to get struck by it either dies, entombed in an ice crystal, or is brought to fatal, in an ice crystal. Easy to dodge, but quite powerful. Can kill on fatal, I think.

General Guidelines.

1.) Kill quickly. Any Ronan with enough MP to cast Kanavan strike will most often kill you and many other people, so dispose of this quickly.

2.) Approach from behind. Seeing as we are talking about Ronan, that sounds wrong, but as you are a female character... nevermind. Ronan's attacks don't protect behind him, so feel free to unleash your moves on him.

3.) Field control. No one does it better than Elesis. Use aerial attacks to keep Ronan knocked down, and manipulate the field.

4.) Distance is still your friend. The only attack that Ronan could potentially hit you with from the other side of the screen is Lunatic Force, which will almost never be casted, except for in close range combos, so make sure you keep your distance, and attack when you are able to deal good damage.

Hmm, I think you're doing Sonic Wave a disservice by not recommending it. Skill clashes with Mega Slash can save your life, but Sonic Wave just plain kills people in PvP. I'm not a PvP pro, though, so maybe people with more experience don't use it. ^^;

The thing with Sonic Wave is that it has such limited range.  Its basically the same length as your sword.  Granted, it does 10 times as much damage as a sword strike, maybe more.

But its can easily be jumped, dashed, or even walked out of, if the situation is correct.  Its vertical distance is just pathetic.  If you can pull it off against an opponent who just blew a bar skill, and hit them with most or all of the hits, its probably worth the extra bar.  Otherwise, its just generally too easy avoid to use well.

Quote.- -To deflect arrows, you have to press the attack button while moving toward the enemy (at least, the keys should be pressed as such), at the exact time an arrow hits. This is rare, and usually you just defend against them, taking reduced damage.

Well an error here...

Investigating and things I found that Elesis has an 80% of defending a arrow. And from that 80% a 20% is chanced to deflect it. Not really necesary to hit the arrow, unless you have the Wii Sindrome...

That means a 20% deflect, 60% defend, and 20% you eat an arrow...

P.D.:Second Special Is LETHAL when stikin' it certerely. Or it takes a load of damage. With that attack I claimed lifes of many. And Many claimed my lifes. Bad thing is the range. But it hits, it kills, or leave the enemy with low HP/Fatal.

I know the 2 bar move is powerful.  It can OHKO, under the right conditions.  But so can Air Spiral.  The problem with both of these moves is that, unless you trap the opponent, you have about a 1 in 15-ish chance of hitting somebody with one of these moves (just a guesstimate).

One of my favorite combos is to 1 bar someone, and trap them in the multiple-blade strike portion, and then instead of using the falling sword attack, I charge up and unleash a sonic wave.  It is quite a deadly combo indeed.

I do not doubt the power of the 2 bar.  It has helped a ton in Dungeons, and when used in combos in PvP.  The thing is, people do their best to avoid being comboed, so I judge every move as stand-alone, and stand alone, 2 bar doesn't make you invincible as long, doesn't last as many frames (damage dealing wise), and has a less chance of interrupting a combo (the 1 bar can actually be released during another Elesis 1 bar, if the timing and the lag is correct, a rare occurence).

At higher levels, the amount of damage you do becomes irrelevant, if you can't hit anyone.  This guide is to focus on how to use Elesis's best ability, her ability to control the field.  As I have learned, a field controlling Elesis, that has good combat skill and ability, is a winning Elesis.

What's your opinion on 1v1 Elesis vs Ronan cat/mouse fights?

I've had quite a few of those , the Ronan jumps like hell and goes for grabs , but is scared when you crawl behind him with the 1 bar . And not sure , but i think i've been able to use the 1 bar to evade the Kanavan o_O . On the other hand , trying grabs with Elesis can be tricky (or i plain suck at it) and it's best that you either sword smack him in the back , or corner then Air spiral.

Almost all of the Ronans i've seen so far use grabs far more then skills - 2/3 grabs = death , and a really annoyed gamer , while the skills take time. And grabs cancel EVERYTHING , which is mega annoying too...

I dunno zero, 2 bar kills me 90% of the time against warriors, but lately you're right, I'm starting to survive with a little hp left.

I can't wait till we are all in our 50s and it takes 2 2 bars to down me xD

I think under 25 2 bar on warrior will be the main way to slaughter players. 3 Bar is okay but even weaker than 2 bar. Can't even come close to 1 hitting me unless the down gets me :(

and grab is very important for me... on any character.

Umm...zero, when arme is using meteor to the right, she's facing left, so it's the opposite direction.

I'm all for Konata and her Video Gameness! Bleach is Win!

CowxDD:

I dunno zero, 2 bar kills me 90% of the time against warriors, but lately you're right, I'm starting to survive with a little hp left.

I can't wait till we are all in our 50s and it takes 2 2 bars to down me xD

I think under 25 2 bar on warrior will be the main way to slaughter players. 3 Bar is okay but even weaker than 2 bar. Can't even come close to 1 hitting me unless the down gets me :(

and grab is very important for me... on any character.

Lol

After PvPing you for the last few weeks, I figured that I need to make a new section about dealing with lag, as the 1bar skill is virtually useless, as the last half of my attack is the only part that deals damage.

Exactly.  We both said the exact same thing.

 ("A" = Arme, ">" = direction arme is facing, "M" = Meteor)
