Hello there, Grand Chase Knights, and welcome to Asuma and Qdomino's Boss Battle FAQ! This is a thread entailing detailed strategies and funny commentary for each and every Boss in the Grand Chase Universe.

Both of us Knights have repeatedly fought these monsters time and time again, so I speak for us both when saying we have plenty of experience fighting them. So, in this thread, expect to find out every secret you may need to know when taking on these baddies.

Well, without further ado, we're going to let our little buddy Shroomy McShroomShroom (Shroomy, for short), start things off already for you avid readers! Take it away, buddy!

QDOMINO: Well readers, we just wanted to give a heads up that this thread will be constantly updated with information on how to take down those pesky bosses until every dungeon is released. But, for now, we've only managed to finish Bermesiah Continent. Trust me fellow Knights, this is a time-consuming process. But we do hope you enjoy reading, not only because there is some valuable information for new and old players alike, but everyone wants to read what Shroomy writes, don't they? =3

Available Battle Ready Characters
Note: As seen below, certain dungeons will have character buttons listed under them as either Asuma's or Qdomino's preferred picks for that stage.

JOBS: Knight, Spearman, Swordmaster.

USEFUL SKILLS IN BOSS BATTLES:

- Knight has simplistic, quick combos, air dash, and can run. Can instantly knock down most enemies with running attack or her air dash attack. Can go airborne with combo attack after four swings to dodge certain boss attacks. Otto capable.

- Spearman has lengthy combos dealing decent amounts of damage and very tactical, precise attacks, some of which can juggle enemies in the air. Leaps instead of dashing. Can instantly launch most enemies airborne with leap attack. Leap attack sometimes goes through bosses. She can use a multiple-hitting attack by pressing the attack button quickly. Otto capable.

- Swordmaster can instantly reappear behind the enemy after at least two swings of the sword, and can swing her giant blade in almost any direction. Has air dash and can run, but slower than the Knight Job. Her 2-hit running attack does not knock down enemies but stuns them for a split-second. Otto capable but difficult.

JOBS: Archer, Crossbowman, Arch Ranger.

USEFUL SKILLS IN BOSS BATTLES:

- Archer can shoot arrows quickly across the entire screen, has double jump, and leaps instead of dashing. Can fire arrows in any forward direction, and can shoot one arrow backwards while leaping that can instantly knock down most enemies. Also can shoot arrows diagonally downward while in the air multiple times, pushing Lire backwards.

- Crossbowman can launch many bolts into the air, but they do not reach across the entire screen. Can float while jumping, and rolls through enemies instead of dashing. Can also shoot multiple shots directly downward after jumping. Also can shoot two bolts backwards while rolling that can instantly knock down most enemies.

- Arch Ranger can shoot three arrows extremely fast across the entire screen, but the third arrow can instantly knock down most enemies. Has a few physical giant bow attacks during combos. Can shoot directly downward twice after jumping. Can shoot one arrow backwards while dashing that can instantly knock down most enemies. Has air dash, and can run.

JOBS: Magician, Combat Alchemist

USEFUL SKILLS IN BOSS BATTLES:

- Magician can launch a multiple-hitting pentragram attack, and can instantly shoot a firebolt in the opposite direction they are dashing. Can slam the ground after at least two attack button presses to produce a multiple-hitting shockwave that can instantly launch most enemies airborne. While underneath a platform with a boss above, can deliver multiple hits from her simple jumping staff attack: Jump attack, while falling through platform attack, Jump attack, etc. Can also dash straight through bosses.

- Combat Alchemist can dash straight through bosses, but jumps a little slower than Magician Job. Can throw one bomb per jump quickly while airborne and bombs thrown in the air explode a little bit quicker than bombs planted while on the ground. Planting bombs quickly on the run can be offensive while at the same time defensive, pushing her away from bosses while the bombs are still being laid. Also has a physical, 2-hit spinning attack with her bomb bag. Alchemist can also get a higher jump if jumping is timed correctly while standing on an exploding bomb.

JOBS: Spell Knight, Dragon Knight

USEFUL SKILLS IN BOSS BATTLES:

- Spell Knight has quick, 5-hit combo that does not knock down, air dash, and can run. Can instantly launch most enemies airborne with running attack. His air dash attack can instantly knock down most enemies. Can shoot a magic bolt backwards while dashing. Otto capable.

- Dragon Knight has a quick, 4-hit combo that can launch most enemies airborne. Can air dash, and can run. Can instantly knock down most enemies with running attack. He can also dash attack diagonally forward while airborne, which can knock down most enemies. This job is also very tactical with lengthy combos that can juggle enemies in the air. Otto capable but difficult.

JOBS: Thief

USEFUL SKILLS IN BOSS BATTLES:

- Thief can run quicker than most jobs, and can double jump. He can throw two kunai directly downward while airborne after double jump. Has quick, simplistic combos, one of which can juggle enemies in the air. He can use a multiple-hitting attack by pressing the attack button quickly. Not otto capable.

ASUMA: Okay Knights, this is our ingenious Ranking System for how difficult bosses are. Don't be jealous; we thought of it first. More ranks will also be added as we add new dungeons to this FAQ.

ASUMA: My pet owned this fool. LOL

QDOMINO: The first boss you'll encounter in Grand Chase! As Asuma said, he's not very difficult, even for new players. Hack n' Slash away at Treant's health while constantly keeping an eye out on his movements to predict his simple yet damaging attacks, the strongest being Vine Hold.

We gave this boss the rating of a Bronze Shield. No questions asked.

ASUMA: This wendigo just looks weird. She's got a face only a mother could love.  I wonder what happens to her horns when shes in the sun.

QDOMINO: The second boss! Well, she's definitely weird looking, and...apparently this Wendigo whose helping to train our Knights in Grand Chase isn't very friendly. Basically, for this fight, the same strategy used for Treant works wonders. Hack n' Slash, and try to keep to the platforms for quick access to escape from her powerful attacks. Her strongest attack: Ground Pound; simple yet annoying.

We gave this boss the rating of a Bronze Shield. Who would say otherwise??

ASUMA: I sure am glad I'm an archer, this guy looks like he hasn't taken a bath in awhile, plus he's not the quickest boss in the game. Still pretty easy if you ask me.

QDOMINO: The belly dancer of the bosses! With the third boss of the game, comes a little bit more strategy, involving not utilizing all hits of a player's combo attack in order to stay open in case of an attack from the Orc Warrior. Knocking down in order to avoid his attacks isn't really necessary yet, either. His strongest attack: Running Charge.

We gave this boss the rating of a Bronze Shield; getting there, but not quite earning a Silver Shield yet.

ASUMA: MMM.. Taste like chicken. Again another easy boss fight for ranged. Archer for the win.

QDOMINO: The fourth baddy in the boss lineup! This is the first boss to have in it's arsenal a "DANGER" attack, in which the screen will flash "DANGER" when Featherstorm is about to happen. Featherstorm can deal a lot of damage, but can be easily avoided by standing directly under the Harpy Queen when she launches this attack. Her Diving Strike isn't too powerful, and is easy to dodge; knockback with contact though. Her henchman harpies are also worth mentioning because they, like her, can stay in the air and be hard to attack, unless you are a ranged character. Her strongest attack: Featherstorm.

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. Danger attacks and aerial enemies can be time-consuming to deal with.

ASUMA:  This guy annoyed the heck out of me while trying to do my first mission solo on my archer. The constant ground slamming from him and the other orcs was enough to make me want to go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

QDOMINO: The fifth boss. Powerful AND annoying, which is double the trouble in Grand Chase. This boss doesn't have a danger attack like Harpy Queen, but him and his orc cohorts and be quite devastating with constant Ground Pounds, like Asuma said. My strategy for this boss would be to keep the combo hits to a minimum of 3 or 4, leaving yourself open to dodge, and play the hit-and-run game with the not-so-friendly Orc Lord. Utilizing platform dodging is almost a necessity for low-level players here. Make sure if possible to take out any of his orc henchman first, turning the tide of batte in your favor, then focus all attacks on the Orc Lord himself. His strongest attack: Ground Pound.

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. This boss finally made us think the game was starting to get challenging.

ASUMA: I forget what I was doing. Mmmm, burrito

QDOMINO: The sixth boss, and the first holder of a Kaze'Aze Map Piece! Congratulations for getting this far. The Red Gorgos' is a pretty straightforward fight compared to what we've all been through so far. This boss uses a 'Danger' attack like our enemy the Harpy Queen, which can kill low level players that get caught in the flames. Most of the attacks that Red Gorgos uses are easy to avoid, like his Leaping Slam (which has a HUGE delay), just make sure that you keep an eye out on his cohorts preventing you from moving, like Gon. Hack n' Slash away, readers! (Common term in THIS game). His strongest attack: Fire Breath.

We gave this boss the rating of a Bronze Shield. Not nearly as annoying as the Orc Lord.

ASUMA: Ahh yes, the troll from Elf Forest. Like many of the bosses in this game the struggle is not with fighting the boss, but staying awake. Another fight like many of the previous bosses.

QDOMINO: Quite right, Asuma. This boss makes me think of a cross between the Orc Lord and the Red Gorgos. Even though this boss, the Troll, is similiar, he is not that difficult overall seeing as how anyone who's made it to this point in the game would already be used to fighting this kind of enemy. Jump when the screen says 'JUMP', dodge when you seeing some crazy Troll with a nail running directly for you, and just kick his butt. Also, if you happen to see any Orc Warriors around, I highly recommend taking them out first, so you don't have to worry about dodging three or four different Ground Pounds. Not much more explanation is needed here. His strongest attack: Combo Breaker.

We gave this boss the rating of a Bronze Shield. Recycled attack patterns, anyone? Mmm, recycled.

ASUMA: This guy was kind of annoying. Being a ranged job, I never got to see him charging across the screen until it was too late. And when he was done charging I usually got a nice face full of rocks, from his Mega Drill Buster.

QDOMINO: Yes, nicely said, Asuma. I think that this boss is harder for ranged players than he is for melee, simply put, because ranged players cannot always see what he is doing, or what directions his pebbles are flying in. Melee get an extra split-second to get the heck out of the way before becoming a 'rock sandwich'. Get it? Rock Sandwich? Me neither....anywho, after Giant Drillmon does one of his attacks, he's open for a full 7 or 8 hit combo if you knock him down afterwards. Beware though, as soon as he gets back up, he will most likely do a nasty on you unless you get out of there quickly. Mega Drill Buster can also be a one-hit K.O. for people caught directly in the middle of it. Also, one more little hint: I thought that it helped tremendously by building up my MP Bar on his Drillmon cohorts. His strongest attack: Mega Drill Buster.

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. Ranged characters, beware.

ASUMA: A fairly annoying boss, since she is consistently moving and trying to combo you. Might wanna bring a potion for this fight if you don't have a good group.

QDOMINO: Yes sir, an attack heavy boss, Elizabeth is constantly moving, hitting everyone in sight, and trying to roll behind players to knock them down quickly. You can maybe get in a 5 hit combo most of the time, before she decides she doesn't like you anymore and decides to move on. Or attack you. One of the two. Anywho, ranged characters help a lot in this fight, while the melee characters can distract Elizabeth long enough to bring her down. Oh no...jump! Her strongest attack: Rolling Fury.

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. (Insert comment here). The boss won't stop moving!!! LOL.

ASUMA: This guy is easy. Reminded me of one of the weak hollows from Bleach. Almost looks like Ichigo's Vizard Mask on his face.

QDOMINO: This boss is cake. (Cake = easier than the word easy in a dictionary). He has three attacks, two of which are predictable and easy to avoid. Make sure you Jump at the correct times though, because the Zombie Hold can do some serious damage to lower level characters. Overall, keep comboing him after you deal with his cohorts, and he should go down quickly. Sometimes he doesn't even retaliate if you keep him in a combo at all times. His strongest attack: Zombie Hold.

We gave this boss the rating of a Bronze Shield. Heavy combos own this guy.

ASUMA: I dont know why but I HATE THIS PLACE. As a ranged character the reflective shield can get annoying. If you try to sit back and just shoot you get a face full of arrows back at you, but if you try to run up close, by the time you get there the lasers are going off. It's just best to stay up close even though you're ranged attacking him on this fight.

QDOMINO: I agree, I agree, I do think melee characters have things a tad bit easier this boss battle. Paradom can be tricky, with his lasers firing this and that direction every few seconds, but he does get predictable after a while, like all bosses. Staying close to Paradom is good advice, especially when trying to dodge his attacks. I recommend keeping your combos to a 3 or 4 hit length, and pausing for a split second after each one to see what Paradom will do next. Utilizing the platform-dodging technique we all know and love is critical in this battle. (If you don't wish to get hit). Also, extra caution with Big Beam, ALWAYS try and dodge that attack; it can easily be a one-hitter quitter. His strongest attack: Big Beam.

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. He's chargin' his lazer!

ASUMA: Well, Bob ... at first this guy was different. His Danger move does a lot of damage, but after awhile you learn to dodge it most of the time. Despite losing a team member here and there, its always nice to see someone get pwned in it.

QDOMINO: Hey look! It's the name of our server! Also, Ghost Knight Gaikoz' gives out a Kaze'Aze's Map Piece 2 if you're lucky enough to get one. Anywho, this boss battle can be quite tricky the first few times you play through it. Gaikoz' is always teleporting behind players every couple of seconds; I suspect he does NOT like being comboed. Secondly, his danger attack has a wide range and can deal very heavy damage. Strategy for this boss battle (from our experiences): If 1 or 2 melee characters are constantly attacking Gaikoz in a corner, when he teleports, melee characters can instantly leap behind him, avoiding his Rock Slash and continuing their combos, even getting the Back Attack damage bonus. This also causes Gaikoz to continually teleport in the same place, making him quite easy to take down. And, if Gaikoz seems like he doesn't want to be stuck in a corner, Crossbowmen, Spearmen, Mages, and even regular Melee characters can keep Gaikoz airborne the whole fight, if the party is skilled enough. Platform dodging can also be quite useful in this stage, but knocking down Gaikoz constantly is not recommended. Finish him quickly. His strongest attack: Obliteration.

NOTE: Update! One of our new readers, Kochsujin-san on Page 2 of this thread, has pointed out that normally the damage from Ghost Knight Gaikoz's Obliteration attack will hit the players in the direction that his sword is pointing to. So just dash the opposite way from where Gaikoz is if you can when you see 'DANGER' flash across the screen. Thank you for posting that!

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. Not easy at all for new players, Gaikoz constantly teleports, and his attacks can deal a lot of damage, A LOT, to lower level characters.

Asuma's Picks:

Spearman      Crossbow    Dragon Knight

Qdomino's Picks:
  Spearman           Thief

ASUMA: This guy is easy for Xbow or regular archers to deal with from the top level, outside the water.  Just shoot downward until you have enough for a special. Not too hard just watch out for his eye lasers.

QDOMINO: Alright then! This boss happens to drop Kaze'Aze's Map Piece 3, along with being the first boss in the Ellia Continent. We've shifted continents now, and so it seems our boss fights have gotten a little tougher as well. The main thing to remember about Partusay is that his body has three segments: Legs, Torso and Head, each of which is destroyed, and in that order. For example, when you attack Partusay enough to where his Legs are destroyed, he can no longer use his Ground Stomp attack, crippling his capabilities. Another important concept to remember, knights, would be the oxygen bar that you constantly have to keep an eye on. If you have to die during this fight, let's have it be from Partusay's attack, not drowning, which has happened to me a few times. I would personally say in this battle attack his legs first, an easy target, until they are destroyed, and then go to the highest platform next to Partusay's face, and continue hacking away at him until he is beaten. Be sure to constantly be on the lookout for the lasers coming from his eyes when standing there, but if you do stand right next to his face, you can avoid the Water Vortexes he summons every now and then, while still attacking. His strongest attack: Water Vortexes. Now, take it away, Devised, who was a guest on this run to help us figure out how to take him down!

DEVISED: Thank you. This should be pretty easy if you know how to dodge his lasers and keep in the air to avoid his stomps. And don't forget, watch your O2 level, too.

NOTE: A helpful tip when fighting Partusay, if you are having trouble dealing with both him and your oxygen bar, is to equip the item Oxygen Mask before this fight. The Oxygen Mask will nullify the oxygen bar's effects so you will never have to go above the water to restore it! Fight on!

NOTE: Knights, hail! We've just received more information pertaining to certain characters on how to bring Partusay down as quick as possible! First off, one of our helpful readers Kikron on Page 3 of this thread, has informed us with a tip to those using Lire's Archer job. An easy way to take on this boss with her would be to stand on the very top platform the entire fight, above the water, then continually dash from the platform in Partusay's direction, immediately pressing jump. Now you should quickly press the attack button as many times as possible after that, and repeat this strategy. Lire will constantly rain down diagonal arrows if this is done correctly, showing Partusay's life bar a thing or two. Just remember to double jump out of the way to avoid Partusay's Eye Laser if you see the shine from his forehead, preceding that attack.

NOTE: Another avid reader of ours, Vpower on Page 3 of this thread, had a great tip for players controlling Lass's Thief job. An expert way of utilizing Lass's Level 3 Super Attack, the Final Strike, would be when the fight with Partusay first starts, jump up on the lowest platform in the water positioned more to the right side of the stage. Now, charge up and release the Final Strike, dealing massive damage to Partusay and hitting both his Legs and Torso sections. Now, when the Legs are destroyed, and you have readied another Level 3 Super Attack, head up to the platform next to Partusay's face, and charge and release it again. This time, Final Strike will deal it's critical damage to both Partusay's Head and Torso sections, making this boss realize just what's in store for him if he continues to fight against the Grand Chase Expedition!

We gave this boss the rating of a Silver Shield. At lower levels Partusay can deal a ton of damage with any of his attacks, and trying to dodge his attacks, deal him damage, and keep an eye on your oxygen bar can be a hassle for any knight to handle.

Asuma's Picks:

  Crossbow

Qdomino's Picks:

  Spearman       Crossbow        Dragon Knight

Devised's Picks:

 Arch Ranger    Crossbow       Dragon Knight

Asuma:  Unlink many of the previous bosses thus far, Elena and Kamiki have a good amount of attacks. Her teleport can catch you off guard if you're not paying attention. Things to watch our for if you're a ranged character is the Lightning Bolt, just like Arme's, and the occasional Meteor Bomb attack. Not too difficult. The teleporting can sometimes make it a time consuming fight if your team doesnt keep a bead on her.

Qdomino:  Hello again, Knights! It's been a while since the last boss report. Today we are traveling to the second dungeon on Ellia Continent, strategically named 'Ellia Continent'. You can acquire Kaze'Aze's Map Piece 4 also, if you have some luck about you. This boss fight is with a former ally of the Grand Chase Expedition, and it comes in two parts; one, you fight with Elena, the woman who helps you enchant your necklaces; and two, with Kamiki, Elena transformed through the use of Kaze'Aze's wicked magical power. So first, Elena! Elena is a pretty straightforward fight, even for up-and-coming Knights in the field. When you first enter her lair, walking up you should see her standing in the middle of the dungeon, surrounded by four of her Anmon guards. My opinion: Try to get in a nice first hit on her, maybe even with a special or two, because the rest of the battle Elena is going to be teleporting around after being bashed. Next, as a heads up, Elena will 'normally' teleport and perform one of her attacks after being hit by any player for too long, or being knocked down, from now on. That fact might make this part of the boss battle long and tedious, not being able to deal her much damage at one time. Another nice strategy during this part of the fight is to have a few skilled players keep her airborne. If Elena doesn't touch the ground, she's NOT teleporting out of the lock you've encased her in. Crossbowman, Archers, and Arch Rangers have the easiest time doing that here. One more solid tip, would be if you notice that you're about to die in one or two more hits, go grind some MP on her Anmon guards; this way, you give your HP a chance to refill, and you come back into the fray ready to open up an Arc Breath!, or whatever special you happen to use. Her strongest attack: Meteor Bomb.

We gave this part of the boss battle the rating of a Bronze Shield. Elena's ugliness might be scary, but her abilities sure aren't.

Asuma: This boss, like her first form, can be rather annoying with her constantly teleporting and using the double flame attack. Ranged characters generally don't see it coming unless you happen to notice part of the screen go red and have a platform to jump to. (I'm literally color blind, so this annoys me sometimes lol, along with being cursed and using the Shadow Necklace).

Qdomino: Okay! If you've managed to beat Elena, at this point after a few moments she will transform herself using Kaze'Aze's evil dark powers. This is her alter-ego, Kamiki. This part of the boss fight can be tricky, especially with Kamiki using her newfound abilities. Breakdown: If not kept in the air by juggling, Kamiki will start teleporting after being hit a certain number of times, or immediately after being knocked down, just like when she was Elena. After she teleports, Kamiki will normally perform some kind of devastating attack. Be careful; although every time she uses one of her Rainbow Chakram Magics there is a short delay in which you will see the color and symbol of that attack, most of them are very deadly. Learn how to effectively utilize the platforms in this boss battle or you might not last very long. I personally say if possible after one of her specials, go STRAIGHT to Kamiki and start dealing as much damage as you can, until she either teleports or gets knocked down. Kamiki also has a nasty habit of summoning more Anmon guards to protect her and to annoy you, even sometimes immediately after you kill all of the previous ones. All in all, the best way of taking down Kamiki is to BE ALERT right after she teleports, read-out which move she is going to use, dodge it, and go in for the attack for as long as possible. Staying within visual distance of her helps in that aspect. Please note all of her specials are listed above, so read them and learn how to effectively dodge each one in-game. This boss battle may take a while, with Elena/Kamiki always teleporting, and this particular fight being in two-parts, but rest assured Knights, the more you practice against this type of enemy, the easier they will become in the future. Her strongest attack: Blizzard. Also, we had another guest user for this boss battle, our friend Ryuuzu! Take it away!

Ryuuzu: Beware of Kamiki's Ice Attack. If you get hit by it, you just got screwed...from the behind.  >_>;

We gave this part of the boss battle the rating of a Gold Shield. It's the first Gold Shield we've given out so far, and things are only going to get tougher from here on out while traveling Ellia Continent. A two-part boss battle, constant teleporting, and devastating specials make this fight tough for new and old players alike.

Asuma's Picks:

     Knight          Crossbow        Alchemist

Qdomino's Picks:

     Knight          Crossbow        Alchemist

Ryuuzu's Picks:

Spearman       Crossbow        Alchemist

A few spelling mistakes, but fun to read, interesting and gave a good laugh.

I say this should be stickied.

Very appealing guide. =o It's very straightforward and general and this'll benefit a great deal of people. I like the graphics and pictures you added in. Helps make it less tedious and boring. :P

I know it's too much to ask but for the much more difficult bosses, I'd help if you could input tips for each character(and possibly jobs :P).Alot of people would like that. =o

But yeah, overall, a very informative general guide. :P

Hmm...  This isn't really a FAQ, so I'll just call it a guide.  It's a very nice guide so far; all the images and humor make it fun to read, even if you're not looking for tips...  Though I do think you could focus a bit more on the tips aspect of it.  What you consider to be pathetically easy, new players might think is stupidly overpowered.  Not everyone plays like you :P (What brought this to mind was your thoughts on the Gorgos boss.  Personally, as a newbie, I had an unusual amount of trouble fighting him...) What I'm saying is, it could help to try and see it from the newbie point of view a little more.

Also, this isn't really important, but Wendy actually is very friendly.  If you read the text in-game, I believe the Knight Master explains that Wendy "has agreed to help train the Grand Chase knights."  :P  Unless I read it wrong myself (pretty sure I didn't).

Thank you for corrective criticism. It's just our opinions on the commentary, though. =D

Wendy, though = EVIL IN DISGUISE. Mwahahahaha. xD

Very nice.  I've yet to read it through but what I have read is really good.

Although you should have reserved 2 extra posts for the eventual Xenia content...

Wendy is a short-form name for a type of mythical creature.  I'm sure you're resourceful enough to figure it out from there.

EDIT to add: I'm absolutely floored by the content and presentation of this guide though, I think it's worth mentioning.

The guide is definitely going to be update constantly with even better and more content, and we will also work on fixing some text and graphical errors. If possible, because eventually this guide will pertain information to every boss in Grand Chase and more helpful tips, do you think it could ever be a sticky? =D Shroomy wants it to be...

Wendigo? That boss just got a whole lot cooler.
