Hey guys, I noticed that there weren't many crossbow guides that were in-depth, or lire guides actually, so I'm going to write my first guide. Here we go!

NOTICE: This is going to be pretty long, so grab something to eat or just reply after you read the first few words ^_^ Yes I love green. If it's hard to see, highlight it and it will turn purple. Also, NONE OF THIS CAN BE PLAGIARIZED UNLESS I AM NOTIFIED AND YOU HAVE MY APPROVAL.

Tip: Every skill xBow has, except for Trampoline Kick (Cash Skill) can be berserked by Elesis! Berserk is when an Elesis get's hit by too many arrows and causes all the enemies around her to get thrown up into the air. Ouch.

            1. Getting Crossbow(o)man

            All right, so you just got to level 20 with Lire! Woo! Now you want to get your job change since your tired of your 3 skills that you were stuck with since level 0. Go to Athena Pierce. Ok no don't really go to her, she's a lame maple person :D Anyways, go to the shop and buy a Worn-out Crossbow Mission Scroll. It's found at the Academy Tab and costs 2000 GP. If you're buying it with cash, (you should since this is so tedious) it costs 2700 Cash Points ($2.70). I'm going to explain the mission to the GP users first, all right? Anyways, you need to obtain 300 xBow fragments that are found in Marsh of Oblivion, Forgotten City, Forsaken Barrows and Gaikoz Castle. Then you need to get 10 Gaikoz Seals, which are found from killing Gaikoz in Gaikoz Castle 3 stars. This is going to be a pain since you get around 10 fragments per run and ½ a chance of getting a seal. I suggest you rush (Do only the required rooms in dungeon) and get all the seals first. After that, go to Forgotten City and do full runs (All the rooms in dungeon) 3 stars to get your fragments. From what I here, Forgotten City gives more fragments, please correct me if I am wrong. Once you finish, go to your mission chart and press Complete. You get a training crossbow! If you are cashing it, you only need 10 fragments and 1 Gaikoz Seal. Good for you. Now, we move on!

            2. Pros and Cons

            Wow, xBow seems nice, but I sometimes have a hard time fighting specific characters. Well, here are the pros and cons!

            PROS

Nice 5 - hit combo to lock an enemy in place.

Excellent in dungeon.

Skills seem to vary in range.

Obtains ability to float.

Third skill does significant damage in dungeons.

Second skill does nice damage

Dash is invincible, like Arme's

CONS

Grabbing is quite hard to achieve with crossbow

First skill can be reflected.

Second Skill triggers Elesis's berserk easily.

Loses Double Jump

Third skill blows in PvP

Mobility is slower than First and Third jobs

2.1. Who to fight, and who to not

Fighting enemies with low defense and no arrow defense is great. If on teams, xBow is great for stunning enemies so teammates can grab, run or attack.

Fighting Elesis can easily trigger berserk. Arrow defense nullifies xBow's arrow damage by a lot. Once 5 - hit combo is started, xBow's back is vulnerable.

3. Basic Attacks, Combos, and Techniques

Basic Attacks first :D

ZZZZZ = 5 - hit combo - Great for locking in enemies and basic attack for xBow

Jump + ZZZZZ = Arrow Drop - Attacks on both sides until you touch the ground

Jump + Down + ZZZZZ = Rainstorm - Fast arrows coming down straight from you. Good damage

Dash + Z = Dash Attack - Shoot two arrows and doesn't disappear. Use after 5 hit combo for more damage

Walk towards enemy + Z = Grab - Slip under enemy to do grab damage. Longest knock down time of all grabs.

First Skill: Wing Shot - Shoot 4 arrows on both sides of you to hit enemies. Can be aimed up or down.

Second Skill: "Dance Fury Tempest" -Lame name- Fire arrows all around you to deal great damage.

Third Skill: Harpy Hunt Shot - Fire a barrage of arrows upwardly as a harpy comes down to crush the enemies.

Next are basic combos!

5 - hit combo + Dash + Z = Critical Attack (Combo + An Additional 2 Stronger Arrows). No MP required.

Dance Fury Tempest + Grab = All the arrows hit an enemy + a grab. Doesn't work against Elesis! No MP required.

Wing Shot Up + Wing Shot down = Stand in the middle of the map and aim a wing shot up and a wing shot down. Pretty hard to dodge if you don't know what's happening. I call it Volley.

Arrow Drop + Grab = While arrow dropping, float towards the enemy and once you reach the ground, you should be right next to them and just keep pressing Z and you grab them flawlessly.

Rain Storm + Grab = Same as Arrow Drop + Grab

Dash + Z Spammage = Continue to spam Dash Z. Not highly recommended unless all enemies are away from you.

Second Skill + First Skill = Major Damage! Just do what the name says to do. Right after you use second skill, use the first one. DOESN'T WORK AGAINST ELESIS!

Last are basic techniques!

The all - time favorite: Hit and Run! Keep shooting arrows and once an enemy gets close, run away and shoot more arrows. Doesn't work as well with xBow as it does with Archer and Arch Ranger.

Acid Rain: Stay at the top of the map and rainstorm + raindrop arrows. After that, go to the bottom and spam wing shot. Then rinse repeat. Works if there are more than 3 people.

Go with the Flow: Just do what you want!

Grabbing Maniac: Once an enemy gets close, grab as quick as possible. Doesn't quite work well with xBow.

4. In-depth explanation of PvPing with xBow (Coming Soon!)

4.1. If you have Trampoline Kick... (Coming Soon too!)

5. Dungeons

Ahh, dungeoning with xBow. It's just so easy! Just stand in one spot and keep using 5 - hit combo. This does the most damage compared to other 5 hit combos. If you want, spam Dash + Z at the corner cause the monsters are so stupid they won't come near you! Harpy Hunt Shot is your best friend here. Just stand a little below your enemy. Then, stand a little left or right from it. Now you should be diagonally down/left or down/right of your enemy. Now unleash the skill and it should hit the enemy. If you are doing a dungeon your level, you should kill it unless it's a boss or an abnormal monster (Increased Defense, Purple Gorgos, Mongban). You should also keep in mind that xBow's dash is invincible, so it's nice to get out of sticky situations using it (Gardosen's Stone Curse move).

6. Equipment

Obviously, you should always wear the best armor suitable for you. If you are level 35, buy Pegasus Armor, even if it looks ugly to you. If you have low GP and have to decide if you should buy the set or the weapon, the set is the way to go. Think of it this way. You do 100 damage but your defense blows, so you die after you deal 100 damage. OR, you can do 10 damage and keep doing 10 damage without dying for some time. Obviously defense is better, but your attack will usually be higher than your defense because you're a Lire. Here's a list of what your stat rank should be if you are a GP USER. By the way, F is the lowest and A+ is the highest.

20 = C- to C

25 = C

30 = C+ to B

40 = B

45 = B+ THIS IS A MUST IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE WITH OTHERS

50 = A- to A

55 = A+ THIS IS ALSO A MUST ^-^

7. FAQ

Q. Why is it so hard to get fragments and seals?

A. The chances of you getting these items are fixed. It's really luck. You should finish in a few days though. (2-4)

Q. Why is this training crossbow so weak!?

A. It is recommended that you buy a level 20 crossbow.

Q. Can you aim which way you're Second and Third skills go?

A. They only go the way you face.

Q. Why is it so hard to move during your 5 - hit combo?

A. Because once you begin shooting arrows, the process already begins so you should really plan your attacks before you shoot. Think before you act.

Q. Why is this Third skill so weak in PvP?

A. It's not really weak, but it's only painful if the harpy hits and any character that's fast/smart can move out of the way. This skill is really a waste unless it's used in dungeons.

Q. Sometimes when I use Dash + Z, it doesn't shoot. Why?

A. If you don't time it right, it does not shoot. Yes, this requires timing too!

Q. Why is it so hard to perform rainstorm?

A. All I can say is: Practice, practice, practice!

Q. When I run, people always complain and threatens to report me!

A. Welcome to the wonderful world of Grand Chase. If they threaten you, just know that they probably won't and if they do, running isn't illegal, so just stay cool and do what you want, like run ^-^.

Good guide.

When I didn't had AR yet, I used xbow all the time. I only used jump-down-zzzz and grab.. or 1st bar Wing shot or Trampoline Kick.. and some dash-z offcourse.

I never really used 5 hit combo out of no where, only when I knew all the arrows would hit. You'll be too slow if you randomly shoot 5combo.

I always use the 1bar against elesis and 3bar aswell. Also , the 2bar-1bar combo simply rocks against berserk.

There are so many problems around (and not spelling stuff) that i just got creeped ....

I'd love fighting your crossbowman at a 1v1 to see if you are right about what you are saying there. I'm going to use a melee since xbow is marvelous against them. Even if you're saying that its a bad idea using xbow against a melee.

Plus , i'm going to use my xbow against one of your melee's to show you a different approach against them. One that will surely work.

I was thinking about making the real crossbow(wo)man guide 2 months after it arrived but i'm still in development at mastering this weapon.

Edit : I re-read the guide and noticed that you only made the earth-based dance of the crossbow. I'll be making the Air-based dance then. I still have to work on my earth based one because i'm not used to sit there like a froob and spam until i finally found out that i shot 5 bolts ..

Dash + Z = Dash Attack - Shoot two arrows and doesn't disappear. Use after 5 hit combo for more damage

Walk towards enemy + Z = Grab - Slip under enemy to do grab damage. Longest knock down time of all grabs.

First Skill: Wing Shot - Shoot 4 arrows on both sides of you to hit enemies. Can be aimed up or down.

Second Skill: "Dance Fury Tempest" -Lame name- Fire arrows all around you to deal great damage.

Third Skill: Harpy Hunt Shot - Fire a barrage of arrows upwardly as a harpy comes down to crush the enemies.

Next are basic combos!

5 - hit combo + Dash + Z = Critical Attack (Combo + An Additional 2 Stronger Arrows). No MP required.

Dance Fury Tempest + Grab = All the arrows hit an enemy + a grab. Doesn't work against Elesis! No MP required.

Wing Shot Up + Wing Shot down = Stand in the middle of the map and aim a wing shot up and a wing shot down. Pretty hard to dodge if you don't know what's happening. I call it Volley.

Arrow Drop + Grab = While arrow dropping, float towards the enemy and once you reach the ground, you should be right next to them and just keep pressing Z and you grab them flawlessly.

Rain Storm + Grab = Same as Arrow Drop + Grab

Dash + Z Spammage = Continue to spam Dash Z. Not highly recommended unless all enemies are away from you.

Second Skill + First Skill = Major Damage! Just do what the name says to do. Right after you use second skill, use the first one. DOESN'T WORK AGAINST ELESIS!

Last are basic techniques!

The all - time favorite: Hit and Run! Keep shooting arrows and once an enemy gets close, run away and shoot more arrows. Doesn't work as well with xBow as it does with Archer and Arch Ranger.

Acid Rain: Stay at the top of the map and rainstorm + raindrop arrows. After that, go to the bottom and spam wing shot. Then rinse repeat. Works if there are more than 3 people.

Go with the Flow: Just do what you want!

Grabbing Maniac: Once an enemy gets close, grab as quick as possible. Doesn't quite work well with xBow.

5. Dungeons

Ahh, dungeoning with xBow. It's just so easy! Just stand in one spot and keep using 5 - hit combo. This does the most damage compared to other 5 hit combos. If you want, spam Dash + Z at the corner cause the monsters are so stupid they won't come near you! Harpy Hunt Shot is your best friend here. Just stand a little below your enemy. Then, stand a little left or right from it. Now you should be diagonally down/left or down/right of your enemy. Now unleash the skill and it should hit the enemy. If you are doing a dungeon your level, you should kill it unless it's a boss or an abnormal monster (Increased Defense, Purple Gorgos, Mongban). You should also keep in mind that xBow's dash is invincible, so it's nice to get out of sticky situations using it (Gardosen's Stone Curse move).

6. Equipment

Obviously, you should always wear the best armor suitable for you. If you are level 35, buy Pegasus Armor, even if it looks ugly to you. If you have low GP and have to decide if you should buy the set or the weapon, the set is the way to go. Think of it this way. You do 100 damage but your defense blows, so you die after you deal 100 damage. OR, you can do 10 damage and keep doing 10 damage without dying for some time. Obviously defense is better, but your attack will usually be higher than your defense because you're a Lire. Here's a list of what your stat rank should be if you are a GP USER. By the way, F is the lowest and A+ is the highest.

20 = C- to C

25 = C

30 = C+ to B

40 = B

45 = B+ THIS IS A MUST IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE WITH OTHERS

50 = A- to A

55 = A+ THIS IS ALSO A MUST ^-^

7. FAQ

Q. Why is it so hard to get fragments and seals?

A. The chances of you getting these items are fixed. It's really luck. You should finish in a few days though. (2-4)

Q. Why is this training crossbow so weak!?

A. It is recommended that you buy a level 20 crossbow.

Q. Can you aim which way you're Second and Third skills go?

A. They only go the way you face.

Q. Why is it so hard to move during your 5 - hit combo?

A. Because once you begin shooting arrows, the process already begins so you should really plan your attacks before you shoot. Think before you act.

Q. Why is this Third skill so weak in PvP?

A. It's not really weak, but it's only painful if the harpy hits and any character that's fast/smart can move out of the way. This skill is really a waste unless it's used in dungeons.

Q. Sometimes when I use Dash + Z, it doesn't shoot. Why?

A. If you don't time it right, it does not shoot. Yes, this requires timing too!

Q. Why is it so hard to perform rainstorm?

A. All I can say is: Practice, practice, practice!

Q. When I run, people always complain and threatens to report me!

A. Welcome to the wonderful world of Grand Chase. If they threaten you, just know that they probably won't and if they do, running isn't illegal, so just stay cool and do what you want, like run ^-^.

Wow, xBow seems nice, but I sometimes have a hard time fighting specific characters. Well, here are the pros and cons!

PROS

· Nice 5 - hit combo to lock an enemy in place.

· Excellent in dungeon.

· Skills seem to vary in range.

· Obtains ability to float.

· Third skill does significant damage in dungeons.

· Second skill does nice damage

· Dash is invincible, like Arme's

CONS

· Grabbing is quite hard to achieve with crossbow

· First skill can be reflected.

· Second Skill triggers Elesis's berserk easily.

· Loses Double Jump

· Third skill blows in PvP

· Mobility is slower than First and Third jobs
