hey everyone, this is a fan fic featuring my new fan character: Maik. This tale will have multiple chapters, each one based on a dungeon. I plan on an least taking it to the Gaikoz castle Chapter, but ill be starting in the Gorge of Oath. For those of you who know my character, his backstory says that Maik doesnt actually join GC till Xenia, but this is a fan fic of a fan charcter, so anything can happen. ill try to post a chapter a day if i can, when i can. Any comments/critics/opinions welcome. but please dont flame.
CH. 1: Gorge Encounter.
Elesis: Finally, we made it to the Gorge of oath. That long walk from Gorgos' lair was killer.
Lire: it would have gone faster if you had given the map to me.
Elesis: one, ive spent many years reading maps, and two, its only part of a map.
Arme: Who cares how w-
Elesis: Besides! how can we be sure we can trust your map following skills more than mine?
Lire: Elves have a good sense of direction.
Elesis: sure....
Lire: No, we really do, we need it to get around dense forests.
Arme: Please guys, we need to worry about the mo-
Elesis: Oh please! im the leader of this group, i read the map!
Lire: who said your the leader?
Arme: GUYS!
Lire and Elesis:...
Arme: thank you! you guys are both idiots, that map is useless if no one reads it, but we shouldnt fight on who! we need to find someone who can read maps. and we need to worry about any monsters that may be here!
Lire: Arme's right, i can sense a foul emotion in the air, like something is about to attack us.
Elesis: Bring them on! I'll take all of 'em down!
Lire: Your big mouth is gonna get you killed if your not carefull...
Arme: Elesis! Lire! look out!
*just then a drillmon jumps out of the shadows and almost hits Elesis*
Elesis: AAAAAh!
Voice: Lunatic force!
*a ball of ice speeds forward, hitting the drillmon and incaseing it. when the ice finally shatters, the drillmon lays there dead.*
Elesis: woah, who did that?
Ronan: Who are you? Dont you know that the Giant Drillmon is stirring up the other drillmon to attack travelers?
Elesis: No we didnt, but who are you?
Ronan: my name is Ronan. a spell knight of Kanavan.
Elesis: Well im Elesis, a Knight working for the Knight master.
Lire: Im Lire, an archer whos also working for the Knight master.
Arme: and im Arme ^^! its pleased to meet you! Im a mage who is working with these to. Our goal is to defeat Kaze aze.
Ronan: I see... and why are you here?
Lire: when we defeated Gorgos, he dropped a map piece, and on it was marked a castle. The fastest way there seems to lead throught here.
Ronan: Hmm. Would this castle be Gaikoz's Castle?
Arme: possibly, the name isnt marked.
Ronan: Then we are working towards the same goal. I must move on now, but i would gladly accept your help in defeating Gaikoz. Take this blessing, it should help you through the Gorge. HOLY BLESS!
Lire: Thank you Ronan, we shall be careful.
*Ronan nods and quickly moves down the Gorge.*
-About halfway through the Gorge-
Elesis: gah, these monsters are so hard... why are there anmon guards here?
Lire: i dont know, but this is getting ridiculous.
Arme: I can barely lift my staff....
*Just then an anmon Guard attacks, only to be swiftly (though clumisly) countered by Elesis*
Elesis: Gah!
Arme: Are you all right?!?
Elesis: yeah, im fine. i think.
Lire: we better press on.
Voice: Wait!
Arme: huh?
Voice: i can see you need help crossing the gorge.
*Grand chase looks behind them and sees a boy dressed in white standing on a nearby bluff. His hair is long and white, and it covers one of his eyes. the rest of his hair is held in place by a white hairband. He is holding a sword in one hand, and a fan in the other.*
Maik: My name is Maik, and id like to help you cross.
*Grand chase introduces themselves*
Maik: it is nice to meet you all. *Maik bows slightly*
Elesis: and you as well. *unbeknowest to anyone but Arme, who happened to see it, Elesis smiled slightly, and blushed*
Maik: What are you doing in a desolate place like this?
*Grand chase Explains*
Maik: I see...
Arme: Thats exactly what Ronan said.
Maik: who?
Lire: Just a Boy we met earlier.
Maik: did he carry a sword, and was he able to use magic?
Elesis: right on both counts.
Maik: ahh. very well. then i can trust you. Follow me, ill see you out of the gorge safely.
-Near the exit to the gorge-
Maik: ahh, we are almost to the end.
Arme: finally, my robes are getting sand all over them.
*Maik laughs*
Maik: Sand is the least of your worries in here.
Lire: For example?
Elesis: That!
*The group looks to see where Elesis is pointing, and discovers that the Giant Drillmon is coming towards them.*
Maik: what? what is he doing here? His lair is farther back! towards the center of the gorge!
Lire: he must have seen us and followed us.
Maik: indeed! Quick! we must defend ourselves!
(warning, this next scene contains very little diolauge and much action, not recommended for children below 3 of age)
*Maik quickly runs towards the Drillmon, and slashes it with his sword, causing a deep cut in its belly. Elesis uses the opportunity to use her Critical X attack. Lire fires three arrows, which are Tossed aside by Drillmons hand. Unfortunatly that same strike also hits Maik and Elesis. As they both fall to the ground, Arme yells "METEOR!" and a volley of rocks rain down on the Drillmon. Elesis, badly wounded, lays on the ground, eyes wide with terror as the Drillmon comes close. However, Maik runs in between them and yells a cry of battle, then quickly launches a combo of attacks before finally throwing his fan like a boomerang. The fan hits the Drillmon in the cut made earlier by Maik's sword, and the drillmon falls to the ground in pain. Maik then slowly walks over and rests his blade on the Drillmons neck.*
Maik: I know you cant speak our language, but you understand it well enough. Me and these Girls are walking out of the canyon safetly, otherwise your head will fly. Oh, and tell Kaze aze im coming for my sister.
*the drillmon, with what little motion he is able to move his head without it getting sliced, nods. Maik lowers his sword, and starts walking toward the exit*
Maik: Come, before he regains his strength.
*the Four walk out of the gorge and onto the plains beyond it. Behind them they can hear the Drillmon roar with anger, fear, and pain.*
Lire: That was really brave of you Maik. The drillmon looked ready to kill.
Maik: It was nothing, i couldnt let Elesis Die because i failed to protect her. and i would do the same for you and Arme as well.
Lire: it was still brave, you must have been terrified.
*Maik Starts laughing*
Maik: to be truthful, i was terrified, but ive already let one of the girls i swore to protect get taken from me, i wouldnt let it happen again.
*Elesis' eyes get wide, and she makes to say something, but then decides not to. Arme, again the only one who saw this, decides to do her friend a favor and says:*
Arme: you know Maik, we have a tough journey ahead of us, we could use your help.
Maik: indeed. And besides, following you guys and making sure you stay out of trouble, doesnt exactly seem like a bad idea. Very well, ill join your group.
*Elesis visibly Brightens, and Lire and Arme nod*
Lire: Welcome to Grand Chase, Maik.
*the four start across the plain, elesis only a few steps behind Maik the entire way.*

Chapter Two: Forest of Danger.
*Elesis yawns*
Elesis: How long is it till Gaikoz castle?
Arme: How am i supposed to know? Lire has the map.
Lire: Apparantly Bermisiah has changed since this map was made... I dont see any of the landmarks we should have by now.
Maik: Hmmm, let me see that map.
Lire: Ummm... okay...
*Maik looks over the map*
Maik: Well, i got good news and bad news. Which do you want first?
Lire: Huh?
Arme: ^^ bad first. Then the good news will help.
Maik: Well we arent anywhere near Gaikoz castle. In fact, we are going in the opposite direction for the quickest route.
Elesis: Well... whats the good news?
Maik: I know exactly where we are, and i know the quickest way to the right path.
Lire: Well tell us already!
Maik: we just have to cut through this forest and continue heading North-west.
Elesis: So what are we waiting for?
Arme: Dont you remember what happened last time you just barged ahead?
Elesis: Well im ready this time!
Lire: This forest looks thick, Rushing in might be unwise.
Elesis: Coming from the girl who took us in the wrong direction, i dont care.
Maik: They're right Elesis, we Should tread lightly. I know enough about this forest to know that barging in would be a fatal mistake.
Elesis: How so?
Lire -why is she listening to him... we said the exact same thing!-
Arme -Ha ha i knew that was gonna happen, you hold no secrets from me Elesis-
Maik: Orcs have recently appeared in the forest, and its said that a Troll is causing travelers a lot of trouble deeper into the forest.
Elesis: Well... maybe.
Maik: I suggest we try and get a guide before we move on.
Lire: like who?
*Arme starts screaming*
Elesis: What is it?!?!?
Arme: WOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLFFFF!
*As the others turn around, they see a large orange colored wolf standing behind them.*
Elesis&Arme: EEEEEEEK!
Maik -wow, that was quite a scream, they fit 7 capital e's into it.-
Lire: Be on your guard!
Maik: I dont think thats nessisary.
*the other three stare in wonder as the wolf changes into a boy holding an axe with flaming Orange hair*
???: What tipped you off?
Maik: Wolves dont stand on two legs.
???: I see. Do you mind telling me who you are and what your doing in the forest?
Maik: Of course. Im Maik, an Artisan from Serdin. This is Elesis, a swordswoman, Lire, an archer, and Arme, a mage. They are also from Serdin.
???: I see, and why are you here?
Maik: We are a group called Grand chase, led by the knight master, although Elesis is Currently acting Leader. we are just passing through as a way to the Marshes of Oblivion.
???: Why go to that god-forsaken place?
Maik: Through it starts a path that leads to Gaikoz' castle. We mean to go there to learn more about a villan called Kaze'aze.
???: Why?
Maik: Well, i have my personal reasons, but They are going to save the world from her evil
???: Care to tell me your reasons?
Maik: If you wish to know, you could at least tell me your name.
???: Hmm, true, you have told me much and i have told you nothing. My name is Ryan
Ryan: Im a druid who is protecting this forest from the evil creatures that seek to overtake it. This job has never been much of a problem, but as of late the monsters are increasing in number and strength, and i have found myself lacking in the power to repel them. At least, alone.
Elesis: Hmmm, thats probably because kaze'aze is stirring them up. Her main goal seems to be Causing destruction and chaos to as many places as she can.
Ryan: You're probably right, in which case i have no choice but to cut off this problem at the source. I wish to help you defeat her, so that i may live in this forest in relative peace.
Arme: Which is all fine and good, but we cant even find her if we cant get through these woods, and to do that we need a guide.
Ryan: Ill be happy to be that guide.
Lire: Excellent, we could always use the help.
Elesis: Then its settled, If you help us through the forest, we will be able to defeat kaze'aze for you, making this forest safe to live in from now on.
Ryan: I think you misunderstand, I intend to join you.
Lire: We couldn't possibly ask this of you.
Ryan: It is no matter, i wish this.
Lire: Well, we could use the help...
*the faintest blush crosses Lire's face.*
Ryan: Then let us continue.
-near the center of the forest-
Arme: When do we get out of here? Ive seen so many bugs my skin is crawling.
Ryan: We are about Halfway.
Elesis&Arme: Ugh!
Lire: Hmm, this clearing seems quiet.
Maik: Is that a problem?
Ryan: I agree with Lire, the rest of the forest was roaring with the cries of orcs before, and now there isnt a sound on the breeze.
Elesis: Maik, didnt you say that a Troll was causing trouble near the center of the forest?
Maik: I belive i did, we better get ready for a battle...
*the Group slowly walks forward. Soon a twig snaps in a tree above Lire, and a giant roar is heard as a large green blur falls from the tree.*
Ryan: TROLL!
*The troll slowly stands up, looks at the group, and lets out a horrendous roar*
-Near the end of the battle with the troll_
*Lire sits on the ground, held by Elesis, as Arme tries to heal a deep cut inflicted by the troll, as Maik and Ryan keep the troll at bay*
Maik: Ugh, this beast wont relent!
*the Troll swings his arm down, intent on smashing Maik, who swiftly dodges, although the fist came scant inches from his body*
Ryan: This isnt going well, i may have to spend some life force,
Maik: Doing what?
Ryan: like arme i have a healing skill...
*Troll attacks Ryan, Ryan dodges*
Ryan:... and i think i can heal Lire.
Maik: Then you should probably do it!
Ryan: Right! *Ryan closes his eyes and starts to focus* RESURECTION!
Lire: Ah, my leg, its better!
Maik: Good we could sure use some help!
Arme: Sure! I know just the spell!
*Arme starts chanting a spell in a strange language, and her staff seems to glow as if it was on fire*
Arme: GORGOS FLAME!
*A large Gorgos appears and starts assaulting the troll with its fire*
Troll: GRAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!
Maik: I think that did it! Now for the finishing blow!
Ryan: Im on it!
*Ryan Grunts and turns into his Wolf form, then quickly assualts the troll*
Elesis: There, now i hope the rest of the trip is somewhat safe.
*Long story short, it was*
-At the exit to the forest_
Ryan: There, now if i remember correctly, we just need to go North-west and we will reach the Marsh.
Lire: Thank you so much Ryan, i hope this is a good enough payment.
*Lire softly kisses Ryan, as the others just smile and start walking, although Elesis seems to do it half-heartedly*

And thats Chapter 2. The next chapter will cover the Marsh of Oblivion, and reveal more about why Maik joined Grand Chase. again, any and all feedback, ideas, and suggestions appreciated.

I feel horrible that it has taken me so long to post, but i have had a lot going on. Anyways, here is part three: The Marsh of Memories.
Elesis: Ugh, this marsh is so gross!
Lire: Cut it out Elesis, its hard enough walking through it, stop rubbing it in.
Arme: So Ryan, do you know the marsh at all?
Ryan: I actually do. I have walked through it on more than a few occasions.
*Maik Laughs, but no one else seems to find anything funny*
Ryan: Did i say something amusing?
Maik: No it isnt that, its nothing.
*The others done seem quite so convinced*
Maik: Well, we had better get going.
Elesis: Let me guess, This marsh holds a foul monster in league with Kaze'aze.
Ryan: How did you guess?
Elesis: Every major landmark we have gone through has had one.
Ryan: Exactly.
Ryan: Landmarks are used by travelers to determine the safest and quickest path. If Kaze'aze's monsters are hanging around them, the paths are no longer safe, and the travelers have to take the more dangerous route, which is probably overrun with all manner of foul henchmen.
Arme: So what monster is here?
Maik: Elizabeth...
Lire: Who?
Ryan: Elizabeth, a troll who is said to steal memories. The foul odor of the swamp is nothing compared to her smell.
*Elesis seems ready to throw up*
Maik: Dont worry though, Elizabeth is one of the smarter grunts, she wont attack without cause.
Lire: Well thats a relief.
Ryan: We had better hurry, the sooner we are out of this swamp, the sooner we dont have to worry about Elizabeth finding a reason to attack us.
Elesis: Agreed, lets go.
-Halfway through the marsh-
*Maik sighs*
Lire: What is it Maik?
Maik: Nothing, the marsh just has a way of bringing horrible memories to the forefront of a person's mind.
Elesis: Like what?
*Maik sighs again*
Maik: For me, the past i would rather forget.
Arme: Keeping it inside isnt good for your health, tell us.
Maik: If you insist. I grew up in a small Serdin Village. My parents had died at an early age, and so me and my sister were being raised by the village elder. When i was 10, i started training to be an Artisan, and my sister trained to be an Aprentice.
Lire: Sounds like a fulfilling career.
Maik: It was, in my village. But one day the village elder talked to us about a foul monster going from village to village picking up young children, but not even he knew the horrors about to unfold. One day a Boy with White hair and Blue clothes came to the village, and asked to see some of the village girls. He said he was looking for a bride, but i was suspicious. After a few Girls were gathered, he whistled and a horrible dragon came and took them, my sister included. I ran up and tried to attack him, but he had some dark power, and said that i was a fool to try and defeat Kaze'aze.
Elesis: Thats horrible!
Maik: Yes. I swore revenge against him, and i also swore i would get my sister back. One day i was at the gorge of oath looking for monsters to train on, and i was stopped by a Blue haired boy, Ronan as i would later find out. He helped me clear my mind, and he told me to go back to serdin and find The Knight Master. I was leaving when i saw you guys talking to him. Thats how i met you guys, and so here we are.
Elesis: oooo that Kaze'aze, im going to boil her skin and wear it!
*The others seemed a little frightened of Elesis*
Maik: I... dont think that will be nessisary, we just need to kill her...
Lire: Wait, we know Kaze'aze is a woman (i think) but you said it was a boy in your village.
Maik: Yes, someone told me that a boy named Lass is under her control, so it could be him.
Arme: Thats sad...
Maik: Yes, but not unheard of.
Ryan: Hold, i think we have strayed from the normal route.
Elesis: Huh?
Ryan: I think i see Elizabeth in the distance.
Elesis: Good! I could use a punching bag about now!
* The group starts attacking Elizabeth*
-After the battle-
Elesis: Ha! Elizabeth is one weak troll.
Maik: Well, you were pumped up, you did most of the work.
Ryan: Good news is, we are almost out.
Maik: Bad news is, the next landmark on our journey is even worse than this marsh.
Ryan: It is the Forsaken Barrows, a haunted plain. The great ghost, Lich, is said to haunt it.
*Arme shudders*
Maik: It should be fine, I mean we have defeated everything in our paths so far..
Elesis: Well, lets forge on...

lol its fine, there are a lot bigger plot twists coming up. (hint hint, first real big one is at gaikoz castle, see if you can figure out who shows up)
