Game guard is all to blame. I tried to play some games that use game guard and they all failed to work. then when i went to try a game with hack shield it went all fine.so my opinion is that game guard is all messed up. I haven't been able to play any games with game guard ever since like august or so.

i have a SP3 RC2 on your 32-Bit Windows XP and the first time i run Grand Chase the computer just go busy.. so i need to restart it.. every time i ran it i always goes busy.. i tried the firewall exception.. even the AV exception still the same.. so after searching for some solution around the web.. i find that there's no solution for SP3 RC2 on your 32-Bit Windows XP but there is one for Vista.. so i tried this and i can play now..

i hope this could help no harm trying just revert it if doesn't work

go to your Ntreev\Grand Chase\ directory

right click "main.exe"

"properties" then click "compatibility tab"

click "Run this program in compatibility for:"

choose "windows 2000"

then hit "apply"

run Grand Chase and it should be working.

i hope this could help..

Okay, I found how this works... So basicly all of us who got Windows 7 or Vista that dosent work, anyhow has to wait till Wensday ( patch uploaded ) im sure im wrong though, but 34-bit works for everyone even if you got Vista ( i dont have Vista not sure). I got 64-bit because Windows 7 will start with 64-bit, It dosent have to do with Game Guard nor Server Pack on Vista or Windows 7. You cant delete the SP 3 or it'll screw the whole computer up.  To you windows 2000 or so, besides Windows 7 or Vista if you dont know how to work this out, here's some basic steps..

First Step: Right Click Grand Chase, to Properties:

Second Step: Go to Compatibiliy tab (it might not look like it on yours cause im on Windows 7)

im sorry if it's not right or the picture big and blurry...

Don't bother uninstalling SP3. I have SP2 and I have the same problem.

Strange thing is GC was working just fine for a time (bout 3 weeks ago is when I downloaded it) and I just now have this problem. I have no idea what's wrong. I've checked everything and even redownloaded GC and GG like 3 times each,  but I still have the problem.

It's taunting me because My Amy's at 23 and only needs 1 more Sword and 21 more Frags to be a Muse. That's like one more dungeon run! It's making me crazy!

On another note, my friend got the game around the same time I did and got the problem the same time I did. He just exits out of the Error, ErrorReport, InternetPopup and it works fine for him. Mine just closes GC when I do the same thing.

I really love to play GC and am desprately wanting a solution for a solution that has been common for over a year and nothing done so far to help it. Even moreso now that there is a 5-6 hour layover between my classes and will otherwise be bored stiff.

For those who want to play it via Windows 7, I'll tell you how to. (I'm running Windows 7 x32 at the moment (I think?) and it's working perfectly! Didn't work perfectly from the beginning though...)

It worked perfectly on Vista, so I did compatability for BOTH grandchase.exe and main.exe. Windows Vista was the compatability I used, but it may work with Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or something like that. All I want to share is the fact that using Compatability MAY work!

Hope you have fun fragging monsters/players! :)

I don't know why, but I like it when people are happy.

I don't like it when they are sad. So I help them and make them feel happy!!!

That fact that people (including myself) are still running into this says quite a lot about ntreev. Not 1 post from a GM even offering suggestions. Reinstalling, repatching, etc. all have failed. When will these people learn that gameguard/xtrap/hackshield/etc. only hurts their business? The game does work on XPx64. I managed to get it to start once. It then crashed and now nicely gives me that wonderful 7c error. I wonder who will win... ntreev getting the problem fixed? or me, bypassing gameguard?

Man I've been playing GC with this computer for the past years and its NOW having this problem. Seriously ridiculous. I've been playing with service pack 3 for YEARS, never caused any problems until now. Sorry if there's so many people complaining,  but we are complaining for the right cause. We LIKE to play GC, that's the only reason why. And if it's annoying to you guys, don't read it. FIX IT SOON. Because I've done everything that has been told, uninstalling, reinstalling, do this do that, FAIL. It's making people angry and knowing that no one's doing anything to fix this ASAP.
