We have received many feedback from players regarding Gameguard Error 7c.

One thing which seems to be in common with players having a problem is the Windows XP 64-Bit edition.

Grand Chase is only compatible with 32-Bit editions of Windows XP(home or pro w/SP1 or SP2).

We've also noticed several players' forum signature with Service Pack 3 RC2(Release Candidate 2) installed on their Windows XP 32-Bit editions. As Service Pack 3 is still in development and has not reached RTM stage(Released to Manufacturing, RTM usually refers to the final code), it may cause problems with running Grand Chase on your computer.

If you have installed SP3 RC2 on your 32-Bit Windows XP, please uninstall and revert back to SP2 and Grand Chase should run as normal.

Why the heell would osmeone to take all this time just to play one game this is really stupid so screw you

On top of that they dont warn you of the serious damage you can cause to your computer if you remove sp3 incorrectly you cann completly ruin your os  if you dont know what your doing

It seems if there hasn't been a fix in the amount of time this game has been out: (I saw the first post ~April 2008, I could be wrong). Trying to play this game for the first time and having it fail, I stumbled upon some very enlightening forum posts. It seems really odd that a company wouldn't make their software 64-bit compatible when nearly 80% of new systems today ship with 64-bit OS's and 4GB+ of RAM. I can think of one of two scenarios:

1. The company doesn't really care to attract users.

2. The company is extremely shorthanded on programmers.

In the case of the first scenario, the company would believe it costs more money to update the game than it would be to simply let the game rot and collect the money while it still can. Personally, I'm a little taken aback by the suggestions that are used to get the game working. "Run the game on a 32-bit OS, AND uninstall the latest service pack."

Service packs fix some serious security exploits on top of general fixes for usage. Asking someone to run without the latest service pack is like asking someone to leave the doors unlocked in their home when they go to work. It's either lazy or unethical, and most definitely unsafe. I've gotten my fair share of computer viruses solely from browser/windows vulnerabilities while running antiviruses and firewalls. Based on experience, I wouldn't chance it. If you don't know what uninstalling SP3 would entail, you definitely don't want to deal with nasty computer viruses.

And as for no 64-bit support, who would install a custom OS (which you would either pay money or illegal download) that chooses to only recognize 75-80% of your system's memory to play a single free to play RPG?

It just doesn't make sense.

This is insane i just started getting this gamemon  problem like right after lire's skill tree came out.  IDK y but the comp i use for every game is now start to have problems with every game that uses the dam gameguard.  So i have a suggestion why not just change the gameguard thing to something that is well compatible with everything??? Ya ya im just another complainer, but seriously I have tried everything that has been said in the forums, except getting rid of service pack 3 cause i dont want to kill my computer.  I have no idea why, but a friend of mine's computer can actually run this game and his comp is so bad that the first computer made is even better than it.  I mean crap this just started like a month ago for me but it is just getting way to annoying now.

Im so annoyed as to what has transpired within the Ntreev company , By not fully adressing the problem head on only making minor suggestions as to what is occuring when they should know as to what the source of the problem is a minor mickey mouse of a fix is not gonna please the rest of the gamers who are confronted with this problem. mad

I amy have an interesting information for you guys who all have this problem.

I had that gameguard error many times when I was studying and when I was at home. I have XP service pack 3: the version that's not supposed to play grand chase. But about a couples of months later I changed the internet connection speed and finished my study so I'm at home now.

Right after my connection speed changed and security reseted, Grand Chase worked! I contacted many people why my problem is solved just like that and your problem may be the following:

1. If you have access to the internet by a public Institution (like school), their security settings may alter the so famous gameguard file that is mentioned in gameguard error 7c and stop the game loading. so playing grand chase in plublic places may cause this.

2.when you check the system requirements it say that even if u have the correct system requirements if u don't have good internet connection speed the game may not run smoothly. well it is not confirmed yet but a low speed internet is not recommended and also alter that gameguard file due to hack shield loading time that may freeze and pop up the errer 7c. So a better connection speed may solve the problem. But it cost money, obviously

well... this is what i found out and it helped to solve my problems.

P.S Those may be SOME of the reasons why grand chase doesn't work. If it still does the same error try contacting someone who knows well  about computers. they may solve some problems AND help the others too.

I understand ur anger and I hope everyone will be able tosolve this.

Good luck^^
