 Introduction!

NOTICE: I apologize for the long images, be sure to scroll left and right so you can see them properly.

Assassin has been known around this community, as a "slow" worthless class that is evidently Lass's "worst" job.

I'm here of course to give you a reality check by saying IT DOESN'T STINK AS MUCH AS EVERYONE SAYS IT DOES.

Assassin is actually a fantastic job when given to the right hands, the purpose of this guide is to help you become a much better Assassin.  Get prepared because its time to stop running+fatal attack/Gstrike.  Lass 2nd job is a whole different game.

Assassin's pros are speed and attack, his massive con is how vulnerable he is when he misses a skill.

  -Skills-

Frenzy Sword- My least used skill when using Assassin.  This simple skill consists of 3 swift strikes that do more than decent damage.

The 3rd slash of Frenzy Sword has an incredibly.. weird hit box.

The red box shows where you can land a hit while doing Frenzy Sword.  The skill can hit people out of the air and people behind you.  Of course, the delay occurs after the 3rd strike, so be warned- you will be very vulnerable if you miss.

Pro tip: Using a high damage pet during the 3rd strike can help your damage greatly.  (I use Gold Slime.)

Splash Explosion-  This skill is a simple 3 strike move.  The first chain goes below you, the second goes above and the 3rd goes straight forward.  The 3rd strike can be more than just 1 strike if you manage to hit it correctly.

As you can see, the red box highlights the most probable area of getting multiple hits.

Pro tip: Using a high damage pet during the 3rd strike can help your damage greatly.  (I use Gold Slime)

Deadly Sharp-  My most favorite skill in the whole game.  Deadly Sharp is an incredible damaging skill, you can either hit once (will most likely put the enemy at less than half hp) or make it hit twice and completly K.O. your opponent (Or if they're lucky they might survive with an inch of health left)

The red box shows where the enemy was hit, the blue shows Lass's location (Because he goes invisible)

As you can clearly tell, the multi-strike occurs the further away your opponent is from you.  The single-strike occurs the closer they are to you.

-Analyzing Attacks-

5 Strike Ground Combo- Lass has a regular 4 strike combo, but did you know you can combine the last strike of his 4 hit combo with a double attack?  Resulting in a 5 strike combo.

As demonstrated in that picture, you can score a 5 hit pretty easily.  When you hear the noise of the 4th attack, quickly press the direction your opponent is in to combine double attack and the 4th strike.

Ground Dash Attack-  Lass's ground dash attack is somewhat useless in my tastes, but less experience Lass users can make good use out of this simple dash attack.

By doing it off ledges you can knock people out of the air, or just simply annoy them.  This dash attack doesn't do a great amount of damage but can be usefull in a multitude of situations.

By doing the attack off ledges, you can get some pretty weird results.

Air Dash Attack- This is by far my favorite attack to use with Assassin.  It's attack consists of two strikes, the first being the least damaging and the second being the major.  This often hits around 50+ damage if you get both strikes in.  (In most cases, getting the first strike in always gets the second strike in additionally, no matter where your opponent is located.)

Image one demonstrates the first hit getting in, then going through the opponent leaving them stunned for the second, doing this willl be explained later.  Image 2 shows how rocket stepping+air dash attack can lead to your opponent getting hit.  The second strike did occur on both images, but my screenshots did not catch them.

-Grabs-

Under construction.

-Dashing Techniques-

Assassin's dashes are really fast when used correctly.  The following techniques will help you become a faster Assassin.  Speed is the best part about Assassin!

Rocket Step-  This is a simple dash that consists of a jump and an air dash.

Rocket Step is the foundation for most steps, so its best you learn how to do this and get the feel of it.

Using Assassin's Air Dash Attack on the ground-  This is quite easy if you know how to rocket step.  Basically what this is, is a Rocket step+Down+Z.

The damage rule for it still applies.

I hope you've gotten some things out of my guide.  The purpose of this guide was to encourage players to use Lass 2nd job.  Constructive input is welcome.  But please remain on topic in this thread.  (On topic being discussion about Lass's 1st and 2nd jobs, 3rd too when it comes out.)

Please note this guide is far from complete!

I never claimed I was a good Assassin.

I just use him a lot, and thought I had enough knowledge to make a decent guide. :/

FYI, with the air dash attack, it is completely possible to hit the first hit without landing the second.  You basically have to do it late and tip them, makign the econd strike miss.  It only delivers a glancing blow and so, you can hit them with a Reverse Special afterwards.  I find it very useful.

Note:  Reverse Special - Charging for a sepcial during a frame where you can not move.  While charging, hold the opposite direction.  Unleash the special the split moment you are able to move again and when it is unleashed, it will be performed in the direction you are holding without your character having to turn around first.

I never see any other assassin PvPers...I've only fought a couple that were any good.

Also, I'd like it if you added some tips...I wouldn't mind learning something new x.x

Lass' 1 and 2 bar are great if you combo them together. If you hit an opponent with the 1 bar, assuming they're actually caught in it and can't dash out, cut the 1 bar short and use the 2 bar midway through. 1 bar traps them, 2 bar does the damage. I've found those work great together. Also I have a semi corner trap thing worked out on the right edge of Serdin. Air dash into them and use the dash attack(double slash), Dash once to the platform above, dash back into the opponent and dash attack him, and repeat until the opponent gets out of it. I can usually get 3-4 hits in(4-8 if you count the two hits) before they can get out of it.

I think I was the only Assassin(PvPer) in the top 20 Lass' (cept for you maybe. Idk I never fought you)in the month of November. So...I haven't learned anything lately D: Teach me please :D

I appreaciate the work you done here but...this guide kinda lacks a LOT of info. Not to mention that you didn't say anything about Assasin Control. Yes, you covered the skill range, but you lack info on controlling him. I'll give a few tips I use in PvP and dungeons.

 PvP:

V-Grab - Noticed that assasin has a double dash? You can jump, air dash behind the enemy and dash backwards to attack or grab the enemy from behind. I use it for people who abuse forward attacking when I get close. Helps bypass most skills and deliver damage.

Jump attack -> Combo - Noticed that Assasin has an incredibly fast and deadly combo? For only 4 hits, his combo deals incredible damage in PvP and lasts a second. You can jump attack at someone and follow up immediately with a combo attack.

Grab - Do it like it's no tomorrow. Assasin's attacks aren't as bad as Thief's, so you can actually attack normally but grabs are still very important.

Splash Explosion - This attack delivers 2 stun hits before actually attacking. Since it freezes AFTER the opponent is stunned by the hit, you can take advantage of it. When someone is running at you (not counting really bad lag) you can unleash this to quickly deal large damage. It's totally unpredictable. You just fight normally, run off, run back, run off and unleash. 8 out of 10 cases it strikes that way.

Dungeoning:

Assasins Combo - Do NOT deliver all the hits from the combo. When fighting against 1 enemy you can juggle (meaning his light enough for it) you can deliver 3 attacks (3rd launches up) and stop. Quickly start the combo anew to deliver 3 hits AGAIN and launch the enemy. My record so far 21 hits (3+18 Aerial hits) juggling like that. A little practice and you deal insane damage quickly to a helpless target. Abuse this.

Frenzy Sword - This attack sucks, but chains to aerial dash. After the launching hit, jump and air dash attack. Scores 2 aerial extra hits and pushes the target away.

Dash attack - The dash attack is pretty sucky, but it doesn't make the target fall. That means you can dash at the monster, stab with a dash attack and immediately follow with your normal combo. A very easy chain to the 3-hit infnite aerial.

Deadly Sharp - This attack delivers 2 hits if aimed right. Noticed how far the energy shadow reaches when you attack? Aim like if you wanted to strike with the tip of it. That way it scores 2 hits for like 2k damage. Even more if you attack from the back. Use this on groups of enemies for best MP usage.

Splash Explosion - If you are charged up, soloing a dungeon, you can run around the room, hit every mob to make him follow you, gather them in a group and smash out with this or with Deadly Sharp. A really easy way to get 50+hit combo. Not to mention the damage.

These are the tips I can give so far. Assasin is pretty good, better in some dungeons than Thief I'd say but you really need to know HOW to use him. He's not an easy character, tricky, requires some time to master but greatly benefits. Especially the 3-hit aerial combo. You can kill an enemy that's completely hopeless can cannot retailate.

Ronan Rumble!!! Yay for new signature! Oh yeah.....I don't main Ronan XD.

His dashes have to be one of the best.  I've compared my stepping skills with Assassin to Elesis 1st and Assassin seems a ton faster, but its a little harder to control.

But remember, learning to step does not make you a good Assassin.
