Well, well, well, looks like someone loves to kill monsters. Now I'm sure many of you think it’s not that hard, but like PVP, dungeoning is an art, your weapon is your paintbrush, and the enemies’ blood is your paint. The purpose of this guide is to help you deal the most damage as easily as possible without worrying about effects like Shock Wave, Recover, or any status inducing effects. So let’s begin shall we?

1: Character Breakdown

Welcome newcomer…or veteran, whichever applies here. Either way, an old dog can learn still learn something new if they try, and a new one is always willing to learn…most of the time…..especially after you shoot it in the leg. First things first, know your character, combos, movement, strengths, weaknesses, and skill set. If you know what you’re doing, then you’ll succeed well. Let’s begin the character breakdown with this: Everyone has an infinite combo.

1A: Elesis

Firstoff is the tomboy Elesis. As a Knight she uses a sword for her 1stjob, Spear for her 2nd, and a Great Sword for her 3rd. Sheis one of the fastest characters if you know how to Shadow and Flash Step, andher combos can pack a punch.

1Aa) Knight

Using first job eh? First off, she has a normal 5 hit combo which can be changed to include a Critical or Aerial attack. She can dash on the ground and in midair, so use the speed to your advantage to avoid some attacks. Her Aerial Attack combo helps against Super Armored enemies as you can just jump over them and avoid damage altogether. Now doing a full combo will knock a normal enemy down, which can get annoying if they have effects. Instead, do up to 4 hits of the combo and you should be fine. After the 4th hit, you can start the combo anew with the enemy focused in the direction they were looking at previously. If you were behind him, prepare to deal more back attack damage.

1Ab) Spearman

So you made it this far? Congratulations. Truthfully, I feel as if Spearman is more suitable for dungeons than PVP, but I’m sure there are reasons why she’d be better pvping then dungeoning. Either way, her speed is now cut, so shecan’t move as fast as she used to. In fact, her only dash is a small hop. Before she finishes, press your up key to jump. It’s not that much faster, but it helps. Next up are the normal combos. Spearman has 2 of them; one requires you to press Z repeatedly while the other requires you to hit the enemy in abasic combo. For the first one, Elesis does multiple jabs then a kick. Her basic combo is 3 slow jabs a swing, and then she’ll spin the spear before slamming it down onto the enemy. Now that combo is good if you want Back Attack points as when she spins the spear, she’ll hit the enemy about 10 times, so use it well if you need a good Back Attack score. Her combo can be canceled out with a dash attack that launches the enemy into the air, good if you happen to need an Aerial bonus, and can be infinite too.

1Ac) Swordmaster

You’ve mastered the 3rd job quest, fascinating. Swordmaster now regains her normal dash, but is a lot slower. Truthfully, Swordmaster is basically first job, only with more power and less speed. Her normal combo now is a quick knockdown, but by pressing up she’ll perform a Shadow Dash to avoid enemy attacks and hurt them as well, or if you press Right or Left, she’ll knock the enemy up, which can infinite the enemy for Aerials if you time it right. Her basic combo is just 3 hits which easily knock the enemy down. I sort of suggest just using the dash attack as it’s quick and won’t keep the enemy alive longer than the normal combo.

1B) Lire

Now is the Elf, Lire. Many users play as Lire for her long range and limit lessarrows, but hey, that’s just 1 fun part about her right? Her 1st job is Archer, so she uses a bow and arrow. Her 2nd Job is Crossbow, so Lire is going to use dual crossbows and bolts. And her 3rd job is Archranger, giving her a large Great Bow to fire arrows that could stand taller than her. Although not speedy, she’s good at providing cover fire.

1Ba) Archer

Long Range it is eh? First things first, just pressing Z won’t help here. You’ll have to aim those arrows so you can hit your enemies where it hurts. Lire’s normal combo consists of firing 5 arrows in the direction you point her in,with a possible Critical Attack by pressing left or right. Her jump attack fires arrows at a downward angle in the direction she’s facing, and be canceled into a double jump and stomp. Now here’s a nice trick to use. Do a quick dash in the direction of the enemy, and immediately press up and Z, and then repeat. This is a quick way to deal damage without worrying about screwing up your teammates combos.

1Bb) Crossbow

Congrats, you got Lire’s best class for dungeoning in NAGC since Nova isn’t here yet. Sporting two Crossbows, Lire has become a damage dealing machine in dungeons. Instead of a double jump, she now has a high jump and she can now glide in the air. She can fire in both directions while gliding, or even do a Rainstorm by concentrating all her shots below her. She can do a barrel roll to go past an enemy and avoid their attack, and even hit them from behind as well. Now her normal combo consists of firing 10 shots from the two crossbows repeatedly. Now since she has 2 weapons, it means each one shoots 5 bolts each. So that’s 5 on top, and 5 on the bottom. Now the 5th bolt on top is the one that will knock down an enemy. You’ll want to stop mashing the Z button around 6-7 hits to restart the combo and infinite the enemy till they’re dead. You think that’s easy? Wait till we get to the skills.

1Bc) Archranger

So yeah, first job Lire only with a bigger bow, bigger arrows, and a normal dash. Useful in dungeons you ask? Not really. Most of her attacks will knock down and are almost the same as Archer’s, only she fires 3 arrows instead of 5, and you can cancel the 3rd one into an arrow stab or bow slash attack. Truthfully, I don’t like using AR in dungeons, and hate seeing others use it. If you can do the combo I gave you for Archer, you’ll probably do well though.

1C) Arme

My favorite character, and Moose’s as well. One thing is for sure, you’ll love dungeoning with her. She may not have the speed, vitality, or defense of other characters, but she is long range and will murder enemies fast.

1Ca) Mage

Beginning as the mage can be a bit complicated if you don’t know some good combos. Well for one, unlike PVP, Fireball/bolt spam is welcomed in dungeons since Arme’s will kill enemies fast with it, and Magic Circle also deals some noticeable damage. Earth Wave will pop the enemy up for some nice aerial points and can even lead to some nice combos. Her MP Charge is also helpful if you need some just to let out a Meteor or, if you have it, Lava Flow…err Firestorm.

1Cb) Alchemist

Arme’s second job isn’t for fighting, but for support. She’s useful in keeping your teammates alive, so help them out when you can. Her main attack is to throw bombs, which although can damage an enemy nicely, will ruin your teammates’combos by either knocking the enemy into the air, or even knocking your teammates into the air. Careful when using those bombs, and instead use the dash attack.

1Cc) Warlock

The Warlock is probably THE best Dungeon based character you can have. With her lamp, Arme is now more dangerous than she was as a Mage. Her Lesser Salamander Spirit(Z Up Up) knocks any enemy in front of her straight into the air and deals a lot of damage, and give her a lot of MP. Her Greater Salamander Spirit(Z Z Up) keeps the enemy on the ground, but traps them as well. Her Greater Undine Spirit is good for hitting enemies a distance away while the Lesser one is good for enemies such as Harpies. Her Reflect isn’t really useful in Dungeons, though it can reflect the arrows from those Skeleton Archers in the Kastulle Ruins.

1D) Lass

I hope you weren’t one of the beggars who were level 12 or below when they wanted Lass. If you were, shame on you for not waiting. Now Lass isn’t much of a fighter, but his greatest strength is his speed. In a dungeon it may not seem like much, but it can help if you need to reach someone before it’s too late.

1Da) Thief

As mentioned, Lass’ strength is in his speed. His normal combo isn’t much, nor is his dash combo. He can double jump into the air and throw Kunai directly below him, which can help, and he has a jump attack which is actually the main damage dealer. Here you should practice Lass’ semi-otto, as it’s his most damaging of all the moves, and won’t knock the enemy down. All you do is jump to a higher ledge, do the jump attack, go DOWN from that ledge to the one below it, do the jump attack, and repeat. Its fast, it’s simple, it’s easy, and it hurts.

1Db) Assassin

Truthfully, I don’t like Assassin, especially in dungeons. The only thing I can see good from him is his better speed (Now has an infinite dash….sort of) and one of his skills, but that’s it. All I can say is use the dash attack. It won’t do much, but it will keep the enemy from being knocked up or knocked down.

1E) Ryan

Hey look it’s the puppy. Who’s a cute little puppy? Not you ugly. =D Juuust kidding. Ryan is actually useful if you know what you’re doing.

1Ea) Druid

Ryan’s first job allows him to use a large axe. Although he isn’t really fast, his attacks do pack quite a punch. His normal combo will easily knock the enemy back if you need some space, but try canceling it out in the middle to start another combo for better results. His dash attack can knock the enemy into the air after slamming them into the ground, and his axe slam attack is good to knock the enemy away. Overall though, he’s not useful in dungeons.

1Eb) Sentinel

Now we’re talking about power. Sentinel stands out as probably the 2nd best character in dungeons. Now sporting a Jade Hook, his combos are a lot more powerful and his attacks are way more lethal than before. His aerial attack causes him swing the Jade Hook, while his Downward Spiral can hurt the enemy repeatedly. Combine that with a back attack, your enemy is going to be sore for quite a while. Sentinel’s normal combo can knock the enemy up, but stop thecombo in the middle, and you got quite an infinite with bonus back attacks to boot. And even if you knock them into the air, you can get a lot of hits in too for more damage.

1F) Ronan

“FOR THE GLORY OF KANAVAN!!!” Yes Ronan has made it. Hopefully you didn’t beg for him cause of Gaikoz’s ridiculous requirements. Ronan’s attacks are quite powerful and can lead to fast runs. But is that with all the jobs?

1Fa) Spell Knight

Spell Knight….probably the best dungeon class for Ronan…then again Aegis Knight works well too. His normal combo itself is an infinite, so abuse it….NOW!! His Regnabolt is good if you need to get away from the enemy. His normal combo canbe combined with an Aerial or Critical, but I wouldn’t suggest it. Combined with one of SK’s skills, you’ll have a real powerhouse on your hands.

1Fb) Dragon Knight

When I see a Dragon Knight in dungeons….I can only facepalm. I understand you got it and think it’s better, but it’s not…at least in dungeons. Trading the sword fo ra glaive, Ronan’s normal combo can knock the enemy up or be changed into a critical that also knocks them up. Although a good juggler, it’s not that useful if your teammates can’t hit it as well. His Regnastab isn’t helpful here either, yet people constantly do it thinking it will help. It doesn’t, it does crap damage and knocks the enemy down, taking LONGER to kill it. Stop the normal combo in the middle and use the infinite combo method to make yourself useful.

1Fc) Aegis Knight

Although a defensive character, AK does have some nice offensive tactics. He’s usefu lwhen fighting against bosses like Dark Anmon. Octus, or Lenasien, can auto-shot pretty well, and can block every single attack the enemy throws at him. His normal combo is kind of slow, so trying to infinite there will be difficult, but it’s possible. His other set of attacks will mostly knock down the enemy. If you know how to tank a boss or abuse one of AK’s skills, use him, but use him wisely.

1G) Amy

The newcomer is here. For those who don’t have Amy, take these tips and find some use with them for when you do get her.

1Ga) Dancer

Amy’s dancer job isn’t the best for fighting, but her support skills and attack skills can work well together. Her two styles, Fighting and Dancing, are interchangeable easily and will grant her a defense boost when changing from Fighting to Dancing. When attacking, I would suggest the fighting style obviously, as it’s a longer combo and can be stringed into an infinite. Her Chakram Throw and Kick combo isn’t useful, but the Chakram Throw can be. Her double jump and air dash capabilities can help her skip some dungeons’ Jump Rooms.

2) Skill Breakdown: What skills should I use?

Of course, there are those MP Skills. Which should you use? When should you uset hem? Well here’s a brief breakdown of each skill.

2A) Elesis

2Aa) Knight

Mega Slash: Mega Slash isn’t really that useful for attacking, more like defending. Its long length will keep you from getting hit from those long lasting attacks from bosses.

Sonic Wave: Useful for attacking, especially if the enemy has super armor or is a large boss.

Critical X: The first part of the attack, the upward slash, will deal the most damage. Try hitting the enemy with this part to deal as much damage as possible.

Circle Blade: Not useful, that’s it.

Magnum Break: Similar to Sonic Wave, use it against those with Super Armor or if it’s a large boss.

Storm Blade: The first part of it is good if it’s directed at one enemy, while the last part is good for hitting multiple enemies.

2Ab) Spearman

Ground Break: Not really useful to be honest. Can get in a good hit along with some defense

Tornado Swing: Also not useful, but helpful when surrounded.

Dragon Slash: Badabing, you’re true skill. This one will go from one side to the other. Use it on whatever row has the most enemies.

Leap Attack: I believe its longer than Ground Break, so good for defense

2Ac) Swordmaster

Power Break: Not use unless you need to get away from the enemy

Blade Beam: Since this is basically Sonic Wave, just do the same thing you’d do with that.

Dragon Dive: A powerful attack similar to Critical X. The upward slash will deal a lot of damage and will freeze the enemy in place as well, perfect for the downward strike.

2B) Lire

2Ba) Archer

Metal Shot: Gives 5 Back Attacks if you hit them from behind. Not sure on damage. Helpful? Maybe.

Astral Rain: Perfect if you’re under the enemy and will lead to an Aerial attack barrage. Use it instead of Shooting Star

Shooting Star: It’s alright, but Astral Rain is better for the above reasoning. Use only if you can’t Astral Rain the enemy

Attack Swing: Useless

Eagle Sight: You won’t need it…trust me

Flame Arrows: Deals a lot of damage. Use instead of Astral Rain if you have it

2Bb) Crossbow

Fan Shot: Good if you’re surrounded, otherwise not extremely useful

Big Rush: Good against super armored enemies or the big bosses, but still fails compared to Harpy Shot.

Harpy Shot: THE skill a Crossbow should use. Just remember, the Harpy will fall directly in front of the position you start the attack in. The bolts don’t do a lot of damage, but will help keep an enemy locked in. The Harpy itself will do about 2000 damage itself when back attacked. Hit them behind while they’re in the air, well…ouch. Also practice Ledge Bombing. To do it, use the skill near a ledge and while in the air, move towards the enemy or farther. This will affect where the harpy falls, so be cautious with it and use it to your advantage.

Cash skill..I forgot: Has a slightly longer animation time than Fan Shot, so helpful if you need to be invincible to an attack.

2Bc) Archranger

Hyper Shot: Useful in hitting a row of enemies.

Arc Wind: Good if you’re surrounded.

Chakra: It CAN do a lot of damage and help clear out a room, but against a single enemy it’s not helpful. Hopefully you’ll know what you’re doing when you use it

2C) Arme

2Ca) Mage

Stone Curse: Useful in trapping enemies for others, otherwise not worth it

Lightning Bolt: Good for hitting multiple enemies at once and if you want a lot of back attacks or long invincibility.

Meteor: Nearly a full screen attack, one of the best to use.

Magic Shield: Good for defense, except if they have Petrify or Freezing. Stay away if they do.

Reverse Gravity: Useless in dungeons really, but can help if you have a Lire that can keep a boss airborne.

Cure: DON’T USE EXCEPT IF NECESSARY!!  If someone is in fatal, I can understand, otherwise, DON’T!!

Death Cloud: Useless

Home of Darkness: Also Useless

Firestorm: The one thing you want a Mage to have. Save for bosses and watch their health go down.

Shining Arrow: Not worth using

Athena’s Sword: Very useful. Increasing the attack of everyone for 30 seconds? Worth it!

Boost Heal: Eh…mixed on this. I bought 500 months ago, still have 400+ left. Useful if you need it, but can’t heal Fatal

2Cb) Alchemist

Booby Trap: Not worth it

Poison Cloud: Useful I believe, but I would save the MP

Big Bomb: Useful against large bosses or crowds

Cure: The main reason you’ll want an alchemist. If you play as one, keep your team alive.

Magic Shield: It's alright, but I wouldn’t waste the MP on it

Item Creation: Useful if it gives you something good. Waste EXTRA Mp for it(Not MP Orbs, I mean if you have MP and there are still enemies around)

Giant Punch: Not useful to me since I haven’t seen it in dungeons.

2Cc) Warlock

Tornado: Good for crowd control or large enemies

Fire Ring: Useful if you’re in a pinch

Blizzard: The perfect way to open up combos on some enemies and/or bosses.

2Da) Thief

Thunder Slash: Kinda useless, don’t recommend using it.

Fatal Attack: I have seen it do a lot of damage, but don’t expect it to always do the same.

Final Strike: Good if you can get the enemy to be hit by the splash damage it causes. I prefer this over Guardian Strike

Double Slash: More useful than Thunder Slash, but still not worth it

Bloodbash: No comment

Guardian Strike: I will say good if the enemy stays still, but I think Final Strike does more damage.

2Db)  Assassin

Frenzy Sword: Although the skill is long in time, it’s not really useful unless you really need to dodge.

Splash Explosion: It’s good but Deadly Sharp is still better

Deadly Sharp: 1 hit and it does a lot of damage. Good against evasive bosses like Elena or Possessed Lass

2E) Ryan

2Ea) Druid

Twin Blade: Only good if you need to knock the enemy away

Titan Axe: Its good, but specifically against Super Armor or large bosses due to splash damage.

Resurrection: Good only if your party is worth saving

Wolf Transformation: I don’t see a use for it in dungeons really. Maybe the attack boost, otherwise use your judgment wisely.

2Eb) Sentinel

Back Spin Slash: Long invincibility, otherwise not worth it.

Soul Effect: Good against Super Armor and large bosses

Spinning Phantom: Good for crowds and going through large enemies to get behind them

Nephilim: Use whenever you can, you’ll be glad you did. Nephilim’s power in dungeons is a lot better than using a normal Sentinel.

2F) Ronan

2Fa) Spell Knight

Rune Spiral: Good if you need invincibility, otherwise not worth it

Giga Crash: Longer invincibility, and good for crowds, but save the mp if possible

Kanavan Strike: Useful with a lot of enemies around you or against Super Armor. That’s a lot of damage to a lot of enemies

Holy Bless: USE THIS WHENEVER YOU CAN!! It’s worth it, believe me.

Blast Bomb: Mixed about this one. Can be useful

Lunatic Force: Good if you need to freeze the enemy, but later it becomes a shadow to Kanavan Strike due to larger enemies

2Fb) Dragon Knight

Infinity Sword: Not worth it, ‘nuff said.

Sword Tempest: Not worth it either

Roadstar Chaser: Useful, but maybe not the best

Holy Inferno: It’s good for a small healing, but don’t expect it to do much.

Spell the Rune: Probably better than Arc Breath, but I’m not sure

Arc Breath: Useful for enemies slightly above you. May be better than Roadstar Chaser, but I’m not sure.

2Fc) Aegis Knight

Divine Slash: Don’t….just don’t….

Furious Barrage: Eh…

Blame Buster: 1 shot that can do a lot of damage. Better than Tempest Slayer

Rune Flare: Extremely useful. Use it with Psychic Force to gain a lot of MP back, or combine with your skills for more damage.

Magic Defense: Use if you’re expecting more MP soon

Tempest Slayer: Good in pvp, not that good in dungeons from what I’ve seen

2G) Amy

2Ga) Dancer

Spinning Counter: Not that useful here

Ditzy Rush: I think it’s better than Grand Finale, so combine with Dance Fever for a powerful attack

Grand Finale: I don’t recommend it but if you can use it right, go ahead

Shy Shy Punch: Useful for back attacks andagainst normal enemies when combined with Dance Fever

Dance Fever: Useful. Try to get your teammates in it when you start it.

Loving You: Helpful if you’re in Fatal.

3: Combination attacks: Prepare yourself for a blinding storm!

Ice Storm: Using an Ice Pixie, Blizzard, or even Stone Curse to lock an enemy in, a Firestorm will do A LOT more damage this way. Do note it only works on the not so large bosses, but it helps against Elena, Kamiki, or Possessed Lass. This also works with other attacks like Final Strike, Titan Axe, or Kanavan Strike

Air Crash: Knock an enemy into the air, and with a Crossbow, use Harpy Shot to launch them higher with the bolts(If they hit) and watch them get hit with the harpy for even more damage.

Power Up!: Athena’s Sword, Holy Bless, Dance Fever, and Wolf boost stack together. Ronan can get 2 Holy Bless buffs, one from himself, and one form another Ronan. Buff yourself up.

Tank: With an Aegis Knight or anyone who knows how to do it, you can easily defeat bosses like Dark Anmon or Octuseasily.

4: Party Combinations: I’ll take you, you, not you, and you.

Honestly, I didn’t work out what would be good party combos, just characters and jobs that can work.

Elesis: 2nd Job Spearman

Lire: 2nd Job Crossbow

Arme: 1st Job Mage or 3rdJob Warlock

Lass: 1st Job Thief

Ryan: 2nd Job Sentinel

Ronan: 1st Job Spell Knight or 3rdJob Aegis Knight(For Tanking)

Amy: Only job available of course

5: Conclusion: IT’S FINALLY OVER YAY

Well I’m sure many of you can tell I half-assed the skills, but its cause it took me over 3 hours to do this. I wil lupdate as future jobs come out and I experiment with them. Offer some other tips if you want.

What I find the most useful about Spearman and Glaive is that 'Otto' is easier :x.

Anyways, nice guide, you forgot a few spaces and enters, but it's nice xD.

Most of the things you said in here is the same with what I think xD.

The spaces and enters were caused by the c/p job from Microsoft Wood 2007 to the site. I went through the post to space out all the text that didn't have spaces when enedd, and turns out I still missed some x__x I'm too lazy right now to do it, maybe later.
