Mage is indeed the slowest character and people claims it to be the most easiest character to use. But that is not the case, because no character is easy to use. Because a strong mage must understand other characters and know their strengths and weaknesses in order to play well. Mage's playing style will heavily differ in team and 1v1 games.
1) Mage in Team game- mage is actually very effective in team games usually when it is teamed with a melee. Because everyone knows one major weakness mage has(Lire's Arrows), Your melee team can block arrows or keep Lire busy shooting some place else. It's even effective when fighting against an All melee team. In this situation, I recommand that you spam "Lightening Bolt" Followed by your melee team working on ground combos or specials that are un-counterable on the helpless melee opponents that are stunned, but let's say you have an opponent right on your back ready for a tasty combo? Use your magic shield to create a delay! At worst case scenario, just counter. This strategy will get you most of the wins. Believe me and try!!
2) Mage in 1v1- Yes, Mage can really kik butt in 1v1 believe it or not.
a) against Melee (Noob) - really the most quickest way to kill a melee is "Lightening Bolt" Followed by a grab if you are close enough, or if distance is a little off, use "Stone Curse" to finish the combo BEFORE the Lightening Bolt Finishes, because a Pro Shadow Steppers can easily Rocket Step out of the combo in less than a second.
b) against Melee (Pro)- Use Freeze grab very often against a Sword Knight and Lass Thief when you have chance. Because it's 2 characters I found out that are very vulnerable to Freeze grab. *Freeze Grab-(when you use quick special such as Lass's 1st special, Mage's 1 mp specials(both of them) while your opponent is just about to get up from the ground then quickly creating a delay on time to make them vulnerable to a grab(not all characters are vulnerable to Freeze Grab.). A good melee will always Jump around you for 2 reasons- 1. Mage's 1mp specials(both of them) are often cancelled if hit by a slash directly above, 2. Mage's "Stone Curse" and "Lightening Bolt" do not attack what is directly above. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to fight in this situation. I recommand all mages to use "Gravity" specials very often, followed by freeze grab after they fall on their faces.
c) against Mage- Mage versus mage will test your experience and control as mage, I can not write any information on this. One with more experience and control will be the victor, all types of magics will be casted depending on the situation.
d) against Lire- Good Luck man... I'm not writing this.. x.x (this is the reason why I don't use Arme XD)
*Final Word- When You play Arme.........(Refrain yourself from spamming Fire Bolts.... that's all.)
Yep , nice guide ..
Now do a Alchemist guide xD Thank you very much =)
I know some tricks from alchy but not so many so it would be best if you , and many other players , make a guide for the alchemist users. (then continue on making the rest , if you have the time.
