    Re: Regarding GameGuard Error 7c

so...i was just introduced to this game yesterday...

i notice the first post was in March 08 saying that this will not be compatible with 64 systems.  Has there been any news that they will be making a 64 bit compatable version?

I tried it at a freinds house and I would really like to play it on my own, but its a shame that I wont be able to because they're behind the ball...

Is it even worth holding my breath for a compatable version?

    Re: Regarding GameGuard Error 7c

lulz...all of you having this problem(by this problem i mean the unfinished path through the program [i.e. missing files like gameguard.des]) are the very definition of PHAIL...its so easy to fix xD

usually i found that this has happened because you are using a sub-admin account on a computer...the solution is easy, and ill even explain WHY it works...

because the file is usually placed in C: (drive for you retards), it is counted as part of the "computer mainframe"in a way...which you are not allowed to edit as a sub-admin account(makes sense if you think about it)...all that you have to do, is copy the NTREEV(or whatever) folder, and paste it into "my documents" for your sub-admin account...if it doesnt fix the problem right there, find the missing file and paste it in several folders(grand chase folders, specifically) until the complete path goes through and starts the game

when you do this, it will only work if you run the on IN YOUR DOCUMENTS...the set of paths for the programs in C: are different from the one in "my documents"...so you still will not be able to run the copy that is in the C drive part of "My computer"

and if you cant play the game after an update(sometimes you just need to run the patch on an admin account, then it will work until the next patch), its not because of the programming...Ntreev is doing a fine job...the problem is the fact that there is no limit to human stupidity

anyone who knows what they're doing would agree with me...if you dont, you dont know what you're doing, and that's most likely why you're in this forum in the first place!

if people would just think for themselves, the world would be alot better off...i thought of this when i was 10 you noobs...

message me if you still have problems

ill help you as best as i can

    Re: Regarding GameGuard Error 7c

    Strange,

I'm using sp3 on Win32 and the client runs just fine... I only have problems with using my cash points(can't buy anything). When trying to log in the ntreev site (green themed) through the game client I just cannot log in. I guess a on site cash shop would help cuz I can log into that just fine. But oh well, guess I'll just have to ask for my money back if this doesn't get solved in a week or two.

    Re: Regarding GameGuard Error 7c

I'll say this right now. I'm a user of windows xp 64 bit sp 2 pack.

I've tried every single last solution everyone has mentioned here and in various forums that I have looked up. I've even did some research why windows XP 64 bit as two program files. There is a differnce, but even knowing this, the possible solutions I tried using did not work either.

Then I've tried to install another game to see if installing it with nprotect gameguard would help solve the problem. I couldn't even install it even though I'm running as the admin on my system.  So far I've spent nearly two days trying to solve this problem. I apprecatie the helpful infomation various people have posted, but currently my next step is to go into some of my settings in my admin tools on my computer.

Secondly, I still have some blame towards the developers of this game. They should have at least been able to realize that some to most users nowadays use either Windows XP 64 bit or Vista and should have had this problem fixed in the very begining. I don't care if I damage my computer in the process to fix this problem, as long as it's software. I'm not a soul who would give up when I see something interesting. I'm just sadden that I have to use up this time to fix a problem that could have been fixed from the very begining. I'm not saying the GM's are at fault, because they ussually have no control over something like this.

Finally, I don't see why one game I have that uses game guard works and this game won't. So with the research I've done so far, it may be a communication problem between gamegaurd and the game. A great deal of Sephiroths post points this out. That is why I'm checking out my admin tool settings right now to see what the problem is.

    P.S. I may have finally found the source of my problem, however, it'll take me sometime to understand how to fix it. Going under the event viewer in my admin tools, it is basicly what I thought it is and yet it is not. It's a bit difficult for me to explain (newbie using the tools here, with little experince). So I have more research to do. If there is anyone with the same OS system as I that has exerpince with the admin tools please contact me. Just might be able to find a temp fix to the problem ^^;;

    Re: Regarding GameGuard Error 7c

How to run grand chase on 64x:

(I understand its cheap but at least you can play until they add support without having to dual boot.)

     1. Download VMWare Workstation

    2. Create a virtual machine with experimental directx support enabled.

     3. Install windows xp on the virtual machine.

    4. Install VMWare tools on the virtual machine.

    5. Install grand chase on the virtual machine.

    6. Play!

I cant promise that this will work for you but so far I have not had any problems.

Any questions email me at lifixs@gmail.com.
