Is it with exact similarity in chances of getting items, same items, and all that? I happen to have my doubts on that.
Gacha is not exactly fair to the players atm... Spending 50$+ on a virtual pet within a game, methinks is not the right way. Sure I did it on a whim which makes me a gullible impulsive person... Can't help but to admit that. I won't fall for it a second time though.
Meaning i'm not buying anymore gacha coins. Ever. <- that alone should light a red flag on Ntreev's side. Because i'm of the low % of players posting on the forum, you can count on it there are others who share my point of view (and the OP's) on this matter.
The only ones who won't care how much Gacha is unfair are those who have so much money that they don't even have value for money. E.G. Rich spoiled kids.
So with Gacha Ntreev will make on average (just tossing this out there) what, 30$ per player? (assuming most people are not like me and the OP in this matter). While the cash shop will yield much more funds, and the longer the players stick around they'l pay more as they level more charachters, and more items come out.
Yet even if new Gacha items come out, these players will not buy anymore gacha coins, cus we know how unfair Gacha is already, and that the chances to get what we want from it are too low to be worth it.
Yeah, we feel hussled, cheated, w/e. So if thats how we feel after playing Gacha, you can tell that it is indeed a problem. It doesn't matter if you don't think the same way, its enough that some players feel that way to make it a problem.
If Gacha is to be kept, some fixes must be made to make it more fair. After all this is not a casino, we can't win cash from Gacha. So Gacha should stop making us lose cash for useless things or give us things that are worth less than 1000 cash (the worth of 1 gacha coin).
Important points:
The armor pieces for the special armor sets, do not give us more than one of each of these. That wastes our coins. If the result of the Gacha roll is an armor piece, and player already has it, random it among the armor pieces not yet aquired and give that instead. If the entire set is already aquired for the playing charachter - give the pet! if the pet is aquired 2 times already, then random between the other results.
3rd Grade Skills: Why only 500? Worth less than 1000 cash (700 in shop). Give more, at least 1000*, or remove from Gacha altogether.
Natal rings: Again, too few. You give us only 10 (500 in shop). Give at least 25* or remove from Gacha.
Pets: I would say limit them to getting only one. But what if some people would want, for example, both Luna and her evolved form Bastet? So, limit this one to 2 total (if you can, sum up the Luna and Bastet cards under the same variable). If already at 2, random between the other results.
GC Club: No problem with it being on Gacha, but I want it in the shop too! In this case I don't mind if 3 days of GC Club = 1000 cash, same as their worth in Gacha.
*Since we bet on Gacha and we don't know what we get - the regular items should be given with bonus, not penalty. Give us more incentive to play Gacha...
Edit: Note, should you not implement any of these changes to Gacha then do the following: Add random cash rewards to Gacha, ranging from 1,000 to 10,000. Making it almost a true GC Casino -.-

Thanks Kiddy!
